  1. Nebraska wrestle off results from last Saturday: As mentioned earlier ITT, Lauridsen did beat Smith at 125 but it's still expected that Smith will be the starter and Lauridsen still goes through with his RS. 125--Lauridsen dec Smith 8-7 133--Van Dee TF Mills 19-4 141--Hardy TF Ayoub 18-1 149--Lovett was supposed to wrestle Robertson but the match didn't take place due to injury. Not sure if the injury happened to Lovett or Robertson. From folks who were there they mentioned that Ridge was working on the mats but he was wearing a shoulder brace so who knows. 157--Taylor TF Dalton 20-5 165--Wilson SV Minto 6-5--match of the day 174--Pinto dec Araujo 6-2 184--Allred WBF Christiansen 197--McDanel TF Thebeau 23-8 285--Andrews dec Moore 5-0 More in depth coverage can be found here if you're looking for the play by play: https://www.cornnation.com/2024/11/2/24286093/wrestling-nebraska-holds-final-set-of-wrestle-offs-with-season-opener-next-week
  2. Ha, yeah he's pushing the limits for sure. Between his LDS mission and the Covid year he'll be a super duper Senior in terms of age.
  3. Hardy to my knowledge only has two more years left. He's used up both his traditional RS year plus his Covid year. It looks like his career went: 20/21--True Frosh 21/22--Redshirt year 22/23--Covid year (i.e. RS Fresh Season) 23/24--Sophomore 24/25--Junior https://huskers.com/sports/wrestling/roster/player/brock-hardy
  4. Nebraska has their wrestle off finals this coming Saturday at 10am. Open to the public and the matches are taking place in the wrestling room. Shoutout to Dylan Guenther with Corn Nation for keeping tabs on this: https://www.cornnation.com/2024/10/27/24280977/wrestling-huskers-hold-first-set-of-wrestle-offs-with-finals-next-sat-nebraska-preps-impress-at-psn The most interesting matches should be 125/165/174. I think both Lauridsen and Araujo are heading for RS seasons but if either guy pulled off an upset that would be something. I guess I'd be way more surprised to see Araujo knock off Pinto. Minto at 165 had a nice run and beat Condomitti 12-4. 125- Caleb Smith (Sr.) vs. Kael Lauridsen (Fr.) 133- Jacob Van Dee (So.) vs. Hayden Mills (So.) 141- Brock Hardy (Jr.) vs. Blake Cushing (Jr.) 149- Ridge Lovett (Sr.) vs. Scott Robertson (R-Fr.) 157- Antrell Taylor (So.) vs. Weston Dalton (R-Fr.) 165- Bubba Wilson (Sr.) vs. Christopher Minto (R-Fr.) 174- Lenny Pinto (Jr.) vs. LJ Araujo (Fr.) 184- Silas Allred (Jr.) vs. Marco Christiansen (Fr.) 197- Camden McDanel (Fr.) vs. Adam Thebeau (R-Fr.) 285- Harley Andrews (So.) vs. Matthew Moore (R-Fr.)
  5. Seeing on Twitter that Tervel is putting his house for sale. Him getting the Buffalo job wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities.
  6. I agree on Carter. He was great after the semis and particularly thoughtful IMO after the finals. Him giving props to the trainer was really classy and cool to see.
  7. That's true but sometimes when you ask that question you get the gem we got from Kerk at Big Tens when he told us that everything is meaningless and we should simply embrace Jesus. I laughed so hard when he said that I peed a little bit. That got me thinking, if Hidlay wanted to get into Brooks's head he should've come out with a 101% Jesus headband.
  8. I feel badly for Quint as his job is basically impossible. Every year he gets dumped on but what exactly is he supposed to do? He's catching these guys at a terrible time. He's only as good as the wrestler getting interviewed. Sometimes we get lucky and catch MM, Henson or Hidlay (he and his brother were great). Other times aka 80% of the time, we get guys that are sucking wind and can barely think straight let alone sound coherent on the mic.
  9. What an animal, gets career win 100 and finally beats Franek. Gonna miss him.
  10. Big time tip of the cap to Berge from SDSU @Gus helluva run coming all the way back for the chance to get 3rd after losing in the 1st round.
  11. Nebraska has 5 AAs this year. 125/141/149/157/165
  12. It feels a little weird here. On one hand, Nebraska has 5 AAs, 2nd most behind Penn State. On the other hand, watching Lovett lose in the fashion he did plus Pinto doing Pinto stuff and costing himself AA status has definitely let some air out of the balloon. Let's also not forget the curious decision of Smith choosing bottom against Barnett in the 2nd period despite Smith getting the 1st TD and leading 3-1. I'm not saying Barnett doesn't find a way to win but Smith took his advantage and decided to just throw it in the trash.
  13. I'm hoping for a Gomez/Lovett III. Gomez looks incredible out there. The bottom part of that bracket is loaded.
  14. Ridge beat Swiderski's ass like he stole something.
  15. On what day do we get the annual Billy Baldwin interview?
  16. My first blush guess is Brad Vering. 3x state champ, 3x AA at Nebraska w/ 1x national champ. Was also a 2x Olympian in Greco. I'm sure I'm forgetting a person or two.
  17. Agreed, he was one guy I was thinking might not go tonight.
  18. Penn State is -33 per Circa. I wonder if we see a fully intact PSU lineup tonight coming off the quick turnaround at Iowa.
  19. Agreed, Kerk TF/WBF both guys and I'd probably send Andrews out v. Schultz as he seems less likely to try and go upper body which is a terrible idea. Davison, I don't think it really matters, he cooks both guys.
  20. @1032004is spot on, Andrews is 10-9 currently. Took this from Huskers.com stats page. Apologies for the crappy formatting: Date # Opponent (Team) Result 11/4 -- Devon Dawson (NDSU) L; F (6:20) 11/10 -- #15 Taye Ghadiali (Campbell)L: MD, 24-12 Navy Classic (Annapolis, Md.) 21. Yep that's true, at the same time, there aren't many competitions left!
  22. It's interesting for sure. I'm guessing they rolled Nash out there at the end since the dual was in hand and there was a nice sized crowd, Nash got a nice pop when he was announced. I ultimately think Andrews gets the nod the rest of the way right? Andrews to me just looks better out there. It's hard for me not to imagine that Andrews would've handled the Illinois guy and the Wisconsin guy in more complete fashion. These next 3 duals all have really high end HWTs and Andrews already got stuck once by Davison. I could see NU rolling Nash out against ASU if Schultz is a go since he's such a big galoot.
  23. Circa currently has Mizzou -7 (opened at -6) for those who are interested.
  24. You could've definitely won a $5 bet off me with Virginia's finalists. I would've sworn that Scott Moore was part of the group. Great work and thanks for putting this together!
  25. I think you might have the vig confused with the moneyline. If there was a moneyline available on this dual it would be astronomically high something like Penn State -3000+
