  1. I was having a hard time exactly filtering through wrestlestat to see who had wrestled the most matches. But here are a couple guys that stood out to me in my search. Let me know of any others. Following three have 30 or more matches against D1 competition so far Tommy Askey, Appalachian State - 33 matches wrestled against D1 wrestlers so far this year at 22-11 Kurt Phipps, Bucknell - 31 matches wrestled against D1 wrestlers this year at 21-8 Tyler Stoltzfus, Lock Haven - 30 matches wrestled against D1 wrestlers this year at 21-9
  2. Lee - 1st Teske - 1-2 Woods - 2nd Murin - 7th Siebrecht - R16 Kennedy - 7th Brands - R16 Assad - R12 Warner - 5th Cassioppi - 3rd
  3. They also lost to California Baptist!! @Idahowhat's the word around the campfire
  4. I should apologize here and now for wrongfully predicting Indiana would be at the bottom of the Big10 this year but they have beaten both Maryland and Purdue. Maryland has beaten Pitt who has beaten Virginia Tech for the sake of comparison
  5. Mosha Schwartz over Casey Swiderski True freshman John Wiley (?) over Paniro Johnson
  6. Tom Waits and Jacob Warner
  7. Brands dancing after the loss was cringeworthy. He might need a reminder from Spencer about what type of person uses an excuse
  8. Holy ***duck duck goose** shit Vespa!
  9. Penn State was very considerate that when they lost Creighton Edsell, were able to get Marco Vespa to take his place on the all automotive team
  10. Starting at 125!!!!
  11. being pinned in double OT is pretty rough
  12. wow that was crazy
  13. Phillippi and Latona have a similar long, wiry body type
  14. Other than 149, each match has been very close. Lots of good wrestling. Not too much fun for Wolverines fans so far though.
  15. 125: Heinselman dec Medley 3-0 133: Mendez dec Ragusin 6-0 141: D'Emilio dec Mattin 9-0 149: Sasso major Mayora 13-0 157: Lewan dec Gallagher 13-3 165: Amine dec Wilcox 13-6 174: Smith dec Maylor 16-6 184: Romero dec Finesilver 19-6 197: Hoffman major Yatooma 23-6 285: Parris dec Orndorff 23-9 Buckeyes
  16. For me upsets could only be: Steen over Lee Teske over Bravo Young Brands over Starocci Assad over Brooks All other matches are within reasonable level of competition that even if it's not a tossup it's expected to be close.
  17. Is this an upset pick or is he injured?
  18. I know Ventresca always beats Flynn head to head but I wonder if Flynn has a higher upside.
  19. Let's go Knights!
  20. Thanks I will check this out. I've been doing it the old fashioned way haha
  21. Favorite by weight class as of this moment in time: 125: Matt Ramos 133: Lucas Byrd 141: Andrew Alirez 149: Austin Gomez 157: Ed Scott 165: Mikey Caliendo 174: Micky O'Malley 184: Lenny Pinto 197: Yonger Bastida 285: Dayton Pitzer
  22. I love Gomez and Andonian as well. Since you mentioned them, wonder if you have seen any of Luke Nichter of Drexel. Check out the opening move in this one
  23. This is why I really enjoyed rooting for Hamiti last year as a true freshman who had been in high school the year prior. Also major props to Spencer Moore at UNC last year who started at 125 at 17 years old after skipping a year of high school during covid. He wrestled Liam Cronin at one point who was old enough to be his babysitter
  24. here is a little teaser since I just finished EIWA. The following are the only 23 states which have a D1 wrestler at all ten weights in the sense that they claim their hometown within this state. This is only one of the fun outputs from the data, but a number of the states below will be significantly impacted as I add the SoCon and the MAC to complete the list.
