Today I saw something in a match that I don't remember seeing since Lizak vs Gilman or Rohn vs Lambrecht. A wrestler who was on their way to being teched - turning it around at the last second and earning a pin - only to shock everyone in the arena, including themselves.
The match in question was Dazjon Casto vs Cesar Alvan in today's Pitt vs Columbia dual. Casto was up 14-1 and Alvan was visibly injured with a wobbly leg after multiple injury timeouts. The writing was on the wall, so it seemed, and the tech was only a matter of time. I actually thought I saw Casto intentionally avoid twisting Alvan's knee at the end in a demonstration of humanity and mercy. However, moments later, the gimpy Alvan tosses Casto to the ground with a lateral drop and pins him at the edge of the mat. Quite an incredible turnaround.
