  1. With the rise of drinks like White Claw and High Noon, he just needs a starting spot somewhere so he can lock in that obvious NIL deal
  2. So what happens to Gilcher? Either he starves back to 157 (unlikely based on what I've heard) or bumps up to 174 where they already have a formidable Rogotzke?
  3. sounds like Lehigh doesn't use these wrestle-offs to determine starting spots any longer (if they ever did) and use it as more of an exhibition - per @gimpeltf
  4. Purdue wrestle-offs will be shown on BTN+ tonight at 7PM eastern
  5. The only particular issue I'm aware of is the one where he refused to let Burwick go to Nebraska (and its not like Burwick was a huge difference maker, which made it seem more about pettiness instead of looking out for the interest of his team). He doesn't get along with AWA people so that hurts the program, but that doesn't mean he's a bad guy. Lots of good people may not get along with each other. But it seems like he has been bad for the program! I dont have any personal details or anything like that.
  6. Braxton Amos is also going to do a redshirt this year according to Bono. That would mean that Wisconsin would be expected to be the worst dual team and tournament team in the Big Ten with zero expected national qualifiers.
  7. Bono mentions Joe Zargo will be on redshirt this year after doing double hip surgery over the summer
  8. After redshirting last year for Northwestern, Frankie Tal-Shahar is now listed as being on medical RS for 2025 - giving him two consecutive lost seasons. Separately, his brother Mikey has departed Wisconsin.
  9. I dont have any inside scoops - I just caught it on Wrestlestat and have seen projections from other knowledgable types on the matter that - whether Nagao is on Med RS or not - Davis is the expected starter. And I'm totally with you on Byrd. Love his style
  10. Guys who are moving from 125 to 133 for this year: Drake Ayala Anthony Noto Luke Stanich (will be on RS) Braeden Davis Brett Ungar Jack Maida Ethan Berginc Tristan Lujan Sean Spidle Ryan Miller Markel Baker Drew Heethius Separately, the following guys dropping down to 133 from 141: Cleveland Belton Jordan Decatur Lucas Byrd returning from medical redshirt. Connor McGonagle enters the field off the bench from Lehigh. Vito, Fix, Teske Colaiocco exhaust eligibility, Nagao enters a medical redshirt, while Latona and Basile bump to 141. Sorry for the tangent, but 133 got turned on its head this offseason.
  11. according to coach: 125: Peterson 133: Shawver: 141: three way dog fight between Olivieri, Hermes, and Fongaro 149: Clark vs Cetta 157: Connor Harer probably 165: someone needs to step up and grab this spot 174: Turley 184: Soldano or Cartaegena Walsh 197: Poz 285: Yara he mentioned some of their wrestle-off/indicator matches have been flipping back and forth in terms of results
  12. I hate to be a downer, but with what's happening at Campbell, after the recent NCAA changes, for me, there is a concern of program retention for many of the smaller schools. Here's to hoping we can minimize those losses if they are coming.
  13. Terukina probably walks around at 134
  14. Surprised by looking at him? yes Surprised after listening to Dresser's commentary over the years about Terukina's lifestyle and lack of commitment to cutting weight responsibly? No
  15. Good question although I suspect that the difficulty of the weight cut was a big part of the reason for so many upsets.
  16. that makes sense. thanks WKN
  17. I think Howard's injury problems were the root of the problem. Not a concern about talent, but his ability to stay healthy.
  18. Howard is no longer on Penn State's roster. I'm not sure if he's done wrestling all together or just decided to move on from Penn State. Lilledahl is expected to start 125 for them as a true freshman. Davis expected to go 133. Nagao is on medical redshirt. Kasak is expected to start at 157. Haines can't make that weight any longer.
  19. With such a lack of information, and such a rapid transformation in results and talent attraction/retention for a major big ten school, it seems as if the onus should be on Bono to prove what he is actually doing then.
  20. I share your disappointment brother. I thought they had such a fun team a few years back with Gomez and Hamiti in particular. Someone is truly asleep at the wheel over there
