  1. I’m not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but a good cap to a career by Gavin at Lock Haven this season. 15-2 record, a conference championship and another NCAA tournament bid.
  2. This is a great question. Does post season format prohibit this?
  3. Didn’t one of the Nevills play football while wrestling at PSU?
  4. It’s a shame we can’t see a super fight type match between the Midlands and Soldier Salute champs. The timing could work.
  5. Agreed. It’s also hard to find at a reasonable price outside of California, or at least has been for me in Iowa and Tennessee.
  6. Not quite the scope of the thread, but I was taught a while ago to specifically avoid red or green as far as colors for diagrams or text in PowerPoints in case an audience member was red/green colorblind. Not really the best response, but I have not posted in a while.
  7. In the lead up to the all star Carter made a reference to the amount of NCAA champs he has beaten. I was trying to list them out. I think it’s something like this: Folkstyle: -Keck -Lewis (multiple) -Griffin Freestyle (some fft, some consolation at WTT): -Cenzo (fft) -Dieringer -Nolf -Martinez (fft) Am I missing anyone here? My apologies in advance if it’s already been discussed.
  8. It was a while ago, thanks for pointing out the change. These things happen so rarely that it is hard to consider these things when they happen.
  9. There was a 184 from Wyoming (I think) a few years back that didn’t make weight the 3rd day. He was defaulted to 6th place. https://gowyo.com/news/2016/6/29/577408c3e4b0bdd131ac7726_131479675871300026.aspx
  10. Curious as to how people on the board are thinking about this one. I understand the decision because it’s in the rules, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before.
  11. Isn’t the Indian wrestling governing body on probation or similar from UWW at the moment? I remember something of this over the past year.
  12. The Italian said she quit because intense pain from her nose after being punched early on: https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/40697100/boxer-faced-gender-questions-wins-rival-quits-fight It says in the article she was not trying to make a political statement.
  13. Rumor from this spring is that Slippery Rock University has a donor willing to reinstate an NCAA program. I’m from that part of PA, so I heard this from an alum. Has anyone else heard anything about SRU? They have a framework in place with an NCWA team, it would be nice to see this program back, even if it would be D2
  14. He was an NCWA runner up at heavyweight this past season for one of the Puerto Rican Universities.
  15. I think NIL is tricky for foreign student-athletes. They come via a student visa, which technically does not allow them to work the same as a domestic student. I think this was in the news recently regarding a basketball player from Canada who could not participate in NIL
  16. New ncaa trivia question unlocked
  17. I just got back from the NCWA tournament and can confirm that coach Leeth is a class act. They asked him to speak about the importance of fundraising at the coaches meeting. TSU just had (what I think is) their first All-American (or one of their first) in this year’s tournaments. Hopefully their success at that level helps their fundraising efforts.
  18. Pardon my ignorance, where is the PSU forum?
  19. AJ is drilling downstairs
  20. Stoked for the “Aaron Brooks RS Fr” era…
  21. Is there a reason for so many forfeits? Do teams need to weigh in here to be eligible for the Olympic qualifier next week? My apologies if I missed this elsewhere.
  22. I believe Penn State lists the Covid year seniors on their last year of eligibility as a Senior+ if they are not a graduate student. That is how they listed Nick Lee for his last year.
  23. Hello list, I was at an NAIA/NCAA D3/NCWA open this weekend. They had 4 mats going total and it was a long day. I saw some teams leave early and forfeit in the finals/consi finals (including a few of the double FFTs). Do those circumstances not count as a loss? I know that the first medical forfeit in an open counts as a loss now. thanks in advance.
