  1. GA is putting out some quality wrestlers. Former VT stud Yates is involved with a club near the Atlanta area, I think. One recent notable success from that area is true freshman VT stud Henson.
  2. I’m not tech savvy but gobble gobble lol
  3. VT did a really great job recruiting him. It wouldn’t shock me if he chooses to not go to Iowa.
  4. An assumption is Fisher would drop to 174. Fisher doesn’t look like a large 84 guy now but 10 pounds is a pretty big cut. Fisher is already preseason ranked at 84 and he’s likely going to be really good. If mehki does go 84, redshirt Stewart’s only option is to bump to 97 and try to beat out Smith. I don’t think we’ll see other weight changes for VT. True freshman Sasso could also try to take Smith’s spot at 97. As good as he’s projected to be, it’s tall task for a true freshman to match grown man strength at 97. Heck, 3 time AA Haught got manhandled as a redshirt at 97 until he grew into the weight and hit the weights for a couple years
  5. Mehki Lewis may bump to 184. Not in stone yet but he’s considering it
  6. A team trophy is fairly realistic next season. Not a gimme but doable
  7. VT 125 - Ventresca - AA potential again with Flynn battling for the spot 133 - Latona - AA potential again and a potential finalist 141 - likely Crook again. NQ with a level jump likely after starting as a true freshman 149 - Henson - natty title contender 157 - BA the most exciting college wrestler. Natty title contender 165 - Brady another NQ next season and hopeful podium finish 174- Lewis Natty title contender if healthy 184 - possibly Lewis or winner of Stewart/Fisher 197 - Smith likely if Sasso shirts. Another NQ Hvt -Big Cat NQ with very likely AA
  8. When does men’s FS start?
  9. FS rookie fan question. when do the brackets get released?
  10. VT was in Rowley’s top 6 schools. From what I remember, his choice came down to the badgers and VT. It seems FS is important to him so VT might be a likely spot that he’ll land
  11. Ryan Jack is the clear winner
  12. Or in Blacksburg, being his own man and away from the issues that seem to surround “his family”
  13. It seems Angelo’s visit to VT went really well. Some chatter seems to presume it’s unofficially between the hawks and VT. Guess we’ll see
  14. He’d be a good fit at either weight at VT
  15. What’s his projected weight in college?
  16. I’m anxious to see Coach Brewer scrap again. He’s done great with VT’s lightweights and rolls routinely with the guys. It’ll be interesting to see how he performs after not competing for awhile
  17. Dang, great point. I forgot Brewer’s a sooner too
  18. Jared Frayer is likely the top target. Hopefully he stays at VT
  19. Mehki Lewis vs Cenzo
  20. Stalling is an art form taught and mastered by most nc state wrestlers
  21. At this point, I think it has to be Haines. Henson is a beast with quality wins over Sasso and Milner but Haines’ resume is a little better. That could change next week though
  22. That 197 Allred dude from Nebraska is pretty tough and not talked a lot about
  23. Agree 100%. It pains me to say that as a VT fan but the dude is really good. There’s nothing flashy about him but he gets his hand raised a lot.
  24. I hate he didn’t get in. He’s a tough dude but the injury bug got him this year. I knew he’d be a tough out the first time I watched him wrestle. As a true freshman he pushed VT’s Gustoffson hard and nearly beat him at the southeast open in Roanoke
