  1. Caleb Smith is the bigger 125 and can match Lightening Luke's speed, so physical advantage to Smith. Luke has mad arsenal of attacks. Toss up. Got to like Braeden Davis over Van Dee. As someone else noted, Van Dee has some L's already, so he can drop this one to Davis. Hardy is one of the few current NCAA wrestlers with a win over Bartlett. This could be low scoring and still have the most action of all 5 front side matches. Toss up. Van Ness power and pressure vs Lovett slickness and top game. I think Van Ness is a beast this year, so advantage SVN. Kasak vs Taylor. Kasak is real good on top. Taylor is super quick. Could be a drag to a go behind one TD type of match. Toss up.
  2. Too much sugar in your diet on this one, Truzzcat.
  3. Iowa as some guys that if they wrestle who is on the schedule are going to start taking some Ls. I think the gap they have on OSU is going to narrow.
  4. Ughh. Brain fart. Too much work on my desk and no coffee.
  5. Wrestler A gets 4 Tds Wrestler B gets no Tds but gets 4 escapes They both escape from bottom choice Match is tied Seems to disincentivize earning tds
  6. The result from a team race standpoint is the same. Three or four schools dominate. I will agree that smaller schools are losing guys to bigger more monied programs. Nil is here to stay
  7. Again, how so? It has been 3 or 4 schools for 65 years.
  8. Spot Davis the 4 years he needs to begin to even look like an adult and he wins easy.
  9. How is this different from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s? I recall it was Okie State and Okie for a while, then add in Iowa and ISU. Wasn't it basically 3 or 4 schools back then too?
  10. The season is like many others. Penn State fans are happy and watching to see how far and how excellent the program can get Oklahoma State fans are very excited as they have a brand new energy in their program. Iowa will again draw the most fans, and they have some top notch guys. And the twins gonna scream and jump up and down which is entertaining as always. And fans of all the other programs have their individual storylines and the race to see who can put pressure on Penn State. And Nebraska might even be leading PSU at intermission this Friday night causing some fans to believe PSU is vulnerable. I feel as though there is a lot to like this year
  11. Why I am predicting Gable wins, but at least Greg is in the conversation.
  12. I am not predicting a Kerkvliet win over Gable Steveson, but since Greg last lost to him 3 years ago he has gone 50-3 with the only losses in college being to Mason Parris. During that time Gable has wrestled 4 matches against guys who are not in the conversation of being elite guys. Kerkvliet is a lot better than he was in March of 2022. Gable is who he is so he is going to try to bully Greg like he bullies everyone else. I for one am excited to see the match. Remember, Spencer Lee was never going to lose another college match too, and we all know how that worked out.
  13. Lots of dancing in this one.
  14. If the Black Knight Invitational is any indication then they'd have won decisively. PSU backups hit MSU wrestlers at several weights and won all of them or close to it via Fall or TF. As an example, the guy Kerkvliet pinned yesterday in 56 seconds was pinned in 32 seconds by Cole Mirasola. How can you judge the starter's 56 second pin as anything other than what it is, a pin vs an overmatched opponent.
  15. That is the question, and you don't get the answer with the way he wrestled Andrews. He could probably turn it up a notch to give you a good indication, but the matches with Kerkvliet and Hendrickson is where you find out. Gable at 80% of his old self is probably enough to win them.
  16. It's close, but I like McEnelly over either of Iowa's 184s.
  17. From what I saw today, Nebraska can win some matches. They would need huge efforts but they have the abilty to win every match from 125 thru 157. Every one of those matches can be 1 score matches either way.
  18. It feels like there have been a dozen position changes in that match. That was wild.
  19. They keep Hardy's walk out music going during mat clean up. I think it inspired him to that early td.
  20. Van Dee with the last second td for the win.
  21. I did not see that one, but he looked good in beating McDanel.
  22. They have Salazar ranked 9th. He looks tough to me.
  23. McEnelly looks tremendous in the 184 match.
  24. I doubt that he likes BigTen opponents not putting up much competition.
