Bracket reveal is Wednesday night on NCAA.COM

Any idea what's up with Yas? As a Devil fan its so frustrating not having a clue what's going on with all of the injuries (I'm assuming this year). Never any word on Yas being in and out of the lineup, Vasquez, Larkin, the 184 JC champ. Not even having a 174 entry is sad. If all that I'd mentioned had been healthy along with Parco and Teamer, it would have been another top 5 team rather than fielding a JV squad.
-
I'm sure he would have been, but he hasn't wrestled in 3-4 weeks. I'm assuming hurt again like most past years. He'd probably have been a 4-5. I'm curious as to whether ASU will burn Manville's redshirt and wrestle him at this weight in hopes of qualifying someone.
-
They have in prior years. A lot were also on the PAC 12 network. With the move to the Big 12, coverage for sports other than football has declined. Several matches have been on ESPN plus, but that's been it so far.
-
Pendlelton may have built something with a RTC, but the OSU program has been in a downward spiral performance wise the past 3 years. 12th, then 29th, 23rd and this year looks worse. Munoz has been the one constant but he's had some struggles this year.
-
Happy hour started early for someone in Nebraska.
-
Must be some kind of family genetic issue then because Kaleb had hip surgery when he took his gap year.
-
I think he's in no mans land. I have a feeling he's tired of cutting weight. He tried to move up to 184 last year and lost the wrestle off to Negron. Took awhile for him to work his way back down. Tried 184 again this year but I don't think he can beat the JC champion who transferred in. He's wrestled some in open tournaments and is 1-5. I've watched him for 3-4 years now. Seems like a good kid and doesn't give up but he's cursed with a bad body and limited skills.

4 starters missing this week. Zeke seems to gear up more for the end of the year. Nothing important happens in November, December. That being said, there are too many holes for them to be a top 10-15 dual team, but they probably can finish in the 7-12 range at the NCAAs
-
They're finishes certainly don't reflect that. OSU was in a downward spiral last year. Recruiting cycles for schools that aren't in the big 3-5 are going to dictate up and down years.
-
Trackwrestling has the results. The match is labeled Maroon and Gold. I hear the Schultz match was against a couple different opponents but only one is listed in the results.
-
The preliminary matches yesterday were streamed on their Instagram page. I would hope that at the least the final matches tonight would be as well.
-
So your quote is correct, but if you're gonna evaluate things, take the average since Zeke returned as coach. Or even better once his recruits started wrestling. All of the first class except Tanner Hall redshirted their freshman year.
-
Wrestlstat has the lineup as 125 - Fig 133 - Cheblove 141 - Vasquez 149 - Ramos 157 - Larkin 165 - Ruiz 174 - Valencia 184 - Fayzullaev 197 - Acciardi 285 - Shultz 197 looks to be the only glaring weakness. 1 champ, 2 total AA's, 6 qualifiers from last year return. It will be interesting to see how Larkin fares. People forget Ruiz was a to 10 recruit who redshirted last year. I beat the PAC 12 champ in one of the matches he did wrestle. The 184 is a wild card as well Asian champ, 2 time JUCO champ. I'd say they have a shot at the top 10 if they stay healthy.
-
He's on the roster on the schools website wrestling page. He's not going to be in the lineup so a grey shirt would make sense to save his redshirt for another time.
-
I think the poster was inquiring if he could play college football now. That's what my response was directed to. He's done with that option. Yes, he probably has 1 year of wrestling eligibility left, though the whole college eligibility thing is now a joke. I liked the rule that you had 5 years to use up 4 of competing once enrolled. Now it's just a cop out for guys not willing to get on with life.
-
Probably has no impact on the wrestling community. There are no video games or other things that I'm aware of using wrestlers likeness and images.
-
Even though college athletes are getting paid now through NIL, I seriously doubt that you can sign a pro contract, fail and go back to college. I'm sure he got a signing bonus from the Bills plus was paid for his training camp time. He'd now be considered a pro football player.
-
10-12 K is the average. Still not bad, but doubtful a guy who's never played is gonna be on the high end of the scale.
-
Most Big 12 schools don't actually have wrestling. The conference is made up of affiliates for wrestling only. I don't know that this would impact things much.
-
Where do you think he'll fit in? Not gonna take away Vasquez spot at 141. Zeke's loyal to guys, a five year starter isn't going away. Can he beat Larkin and Ramos? It'll be interesting. I hope he's as good as everyone expects. All the hype is from beating Hardy, but then he followed it up with a lousy Pac 12 tournament. Hopefully his shoulder is fully recovered to give it a shot.
-
Actually Ward was projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick. He thought because he won the Heisman he should be a first rounder and thus chose the NBA.
-
You obviously don't follow basketball or know your basketball history. I believe he played against something like 8 or 9 HOF centers. Not all of these guys are HOFers but look up the size and stats of Bill Russell, Nate Thurmand, Walt Bellamy, Kareem, Bob Lanier, Wes Unseld, Elvin Hayes. The list goes on and on. Back then the big man in the middle was the focus of a team, not outside shooting.
-
So in wrestling about 10% of starters end up being All American. Can you imagine if other sports did that. College basketball would have a 35th team All American guard, point, guard, forwards and center. College football would be celebrating the 13th team All American QB. Wrestling should just call them placer and perhaps label the top 2 or 3 All Americans.

Except it doesn't appear Schultz is in the portal.
