  1. Ono - are we sure he starts next year?
  2. All excellent picks Lisa. I especially like your 184 and 285 projections.
  3. What part of the country Gene? Here in PA planting season typically begins on or about Mothers Day - a time of the year free of any potential frost. What types of tomatoes do you enjoy? My top two are Roma and Beefsteak.
  4. I just wish the owners would do something to grow the forum via new users and create some sort of incentive to transition lurkers into active participants. Tired of the same 30 or so controlling the narrative.
  5. Wow, not that’s big news!
  6. Nice story - very happy for this young man! Admittedly I’m a softee for stories like this - thanks for sharing JC!
  7. Good for you boring! We definitely share this experience - how fortunate both of us were to spend such quality time with the one who brought us into this world!
  8. I was going through the channels this morning and happened to stumble on a a national news channel called “The National Desk” who was showing our president at the NCAA wrestling event this weekend. Then I decided to Google who else covered this and am pleased to report a few others just before I decided to share the “good news” with the rest of you. Every one of you, regardless of which side of the fence you’re on, should be proud of our sport and of course our country. AP News Yahoo Sports USA Today Newsweek The New York Times Fox News Centre Daily Times ….and too many to count state and local news outlets. Good for our sport? ….you bet your azz it was!
  9. Yes Boring, I kinda took on that role at an early age helping my Mom in the kitchen. However a true cook can cook across many types of tastes but mine is strictly Italian. That’s my only experience. How about you, does cooking interest you?
  10. Ok we’ll just have to agree to disagree, plus I can’t give you a hard time after the interesting history you provided on one of my favorite food items - the artichoke!
  11. Wow as an Italian, I find that fascinating! Thanks for that trip!
  12. Those of you in Cali can get these cheap year round. I believe the state is the largest producer in the country just like PA puts out the largest production of mushrooms, another one of my favorites.
  13. Some prefer cooking as is but our Italian family always stuffed them.
  14. I’ll be damned - I just looked it up, there certain is a mascot called “fighting artichokes in Scottsdale AZ!!!! Learn something every day!
  15. Good for you flying. I’ve never heard of Jerusalem chokes. Are they similar to regular artichokes?
  16. No kidding - is that really true?
  17. Very much so once cooked properly. Some enjoy them baked while others enjoy them steamed. I find steaming really breaks down the stems making it easier to remove the flesh by scraping each leaf with your upper front teeth. I stuff them with bread crumbs mixed with garlic, onion, salt, pepper and a sprinkle of Locatelli cheese then drizzle Olive oil ( the good stuff) and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Steamed for about 20-30 minutes depending on the size and quantity. One large one made this way is like a meal!
  18. Was just wondering after polishing off my 2nd home made globe sized artichoke stuffed to the gills. I know, what’s the relevance. There is none.
  19. Trip you’re a trip man. Do you really feel this way or just trolling as well? What about the NASCAR racing event he attended? He actually road in his protected vehicle around the track. What were your thoughts about his attendance there?
