  1. That's all very reasonable but when the 2 marquee match-ups of the dual don't end up happening the optics look bad and I, as a fan, feel sucky.
  2. Are you the poster formerly known as, "wrasslerneverdiesasacatfan" or something similar?
  3. He started off on a heater at the beginning of the season. Vak was right, he did look better. Ever since the All-Star though he has been on a gradual decline. I'm not going to speculate what the cause is but it's plain and simple that he is wrestling ugly right now. Even with his history of stepping up at NCAA's I would not pick him to AA if he continues to wrestle like he has been. Things need to change, fast.
  4. Why? Romero makes sense, he appeared to hurt his fingers and maybe his knee or ankle? What reason is there to sit any other wrestlers? I say that after watching my primary team trot out 3 true freshmen last night
  5. Sounds like an excuse. If Cronin is healthy, I see no reason why he shouldn't wrestle. If Manning wants his backups to get experience he can send them out against non-ranked guys. Just as I type this, Manning sends another duck to wrestle against Coleman
  6. I spotted Cronin standing next to Manning during the stream. My guess, this was a classic case of seed protection duck. Disappointing. I think Cronin would have won that match
  7. Cronin a no show today. Is this a duck, or did Van Dee beat him out for the spot? Ramos won but did not look that great. He can be exciting at times but also tends to wrestle very conservatively at times.
  8. Spencer Lee has had these types of matches every year going back to his freshman year. Even in 2020, when he seemed to be at his best, he gassed against Gutierrez of Chattanooga and famously failed to bonus Jack Medley. He's always been fine in March. Though you never want to see your 3 time champ gas after the 1st period, Pat McKee is a 2x AA and couldn't do nothing. Even Jore Volk was able to score a takedown on Lee in the 3rd. I guess that's progress. I'm not concerned about his gas tank. I am, however, mildly concerned about the presence of the 2nd knee sleeve. There also seemed to be more intense wrapping present underneath the sleeve. His mobility also seemed off. HR and twitter are aswirl with rumors of "illness going through the room". Hopefully that's all it is.
  9. I'm not worried. I'm the biggest Lee fan I know. Just calling it how I see it
  10. Sheesh. This is how 100% bonus ends?
  11. Lee gassed after a period
  12. Would it be complete sacrilege to state that I enjoy both? Depends on what I'm pairing it with
  13. I was trying to take a light jab at his arrogance but, 1) I'm just some faceless entity on the internet. Meanwhile, he is on track to be a college great, 2) his attitude has served him well this far, and 3) I have no reason to believe that his positive traits don't far outweigh his negative ones
  14. This is your yukiest thread yet. It's hard for me to read what the OP wrote and not boil it down to "oh wow, the wrestlers on PSU are black AND good at wrestling! Mind blown!!!" I strongly doubt Cael and company Look at a wrestler's ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, etc when making recruiting decisions. I assume they take character into consideration but I doubt they look at skin color when making that evaluation. The PSU team is full of really great wrestlers who, as far as I can tell, are great men in general (except for Carter). They have reached the pinnacle of the sport, doubtlessly overcoming countless set backs and challenges. That's what they should be celebrated for. As long as they continue to work hard, wrestle hard, do their schoolwork, and avoid getting into trouble, why even factor in diversity? Someone will inevitably take this to mean that I'm against diversity or some crackpot. To that, all I have to say is: bold of you to assume my gender or ethnicity
  15. sheesh. Some people take other people picking against their team/favorite wrestlers far too seriously. God forbid someone makes a spicy prediction and stimulates interesting discussion.
  16. Swiderski just kicked Young 3 times into the hip
  17. @ionel what's the situation with Mastro? This should be a good dual. Interested to see if Bastida seeks vengeance for grievances conducted a few years ago
  18. I don't hate it. In fact, I really like the stall proposal for period 1
  19. This is a valid concern. Why bother finishing a takedown, only to inevitably give up 1 escape, when you can simply walk a single leg out of bounds. The latter nets you the same points without the extra effort. Still, I'd wish they'd experiment with it
  20. I continue to abhor the ankle ride (as well as double boots in) regardless of the wrestler. Real should have been called for stalling. He would have won anyways because he's the better wrestler. Doesn't matter. We learned recently that officials won't call top stalling
  21. I'm surprised this topic got as much traction as it has. I didn't expect a standing ovation and don't care that it didn't take place. The handful of meek boo's that were audible at match start also don't bother me.
  22. I haven't seen any Iowa fans suggest results would be different if the styles were different (but I also don't pay much attention to what other fans think). I am convinced we would see more action if the rules were tweaked. We don't need to go full on Freestyle necessarily
  23. I'm not sure if Iowa wins under freestyle rules. Hard to say since we haven't seen most of either team in that style. I do think it would have been more entertaining.
  24. Wyoming brought a lot of altitude with them
