Maybe he was just a natural showoff. Maybe he felt like trying to embarrass Nelson. I never heard of Gelogaev after he wrestled at OSU, did he move back to Russia and try to make their World team?

Gelogaev was a fun watch. He was so dumb though that he cost himself an appearance in the NCAA finals that one year with the "Flying Squirrel". Tony Nelson batted him out of the air like a fly. I guarantee he'd have won the title that year if he wasn't so dumb.

I can hardly stand the one trick pony types. Remember that annoying, and super boring, spiral ride by Tony Nelson? Ugh.

I don't remember that. I'd probably respect Lee more if I'd heard him propping Ramos, but mostly I just remember him defaulting out at NCAAs after getting pinned.

I remember that! After Picc stacked Lee I saw an interview where Lee actually laughed it off. I'd have never guessed he'd turn heel in a couple years.

Ramos pinning Lee was one of the all time great moments in NCAA wrestling, no doubt about it.

Most of the MMA fans seem lost when it comes to wrestler's accolades. I guess Bo stated he was a much better wrestler than Jon Jones and a lot of the MMA guys were saying how stupid Bo was. I tried to explain to them the difference between JUCO and D1, and they just weren't getting it, they were saying nobody could beat Jon in grappling.

I think this year has definitely been a downer so far. The in-season tournaments have been weak, with the possible exception of CKLV. Is PSU wrestling any decent tournaments this year as a team outside B10 and NCAAs? There have been a handful of moderately entertaining duals. Things are looking up for the last half of the season though, I'm looking forward to some good B10 matchups and am curious if Oklahoma State can continue wrestling as well as they have so far this year. I'm really looking forward to OSU/PSU, of course I expect PSU to win big, but I'm looking to see if OSU is catching up on them.

Didn't he have 6 falls at NCAAs one year? He pinned 3 guys and got pinned by 3 guys. Fun for the fans, but I bet his coach gets ulcers.

I dropped 22 pounds in one week. We lost in the 3rd round of the football playoffs and my first wrestling dual was the following Thursday. I dropped from 190 to 168 to wrestle a state champ who obliged me by whipping me 21-0, this was before techfalls were a thing. He wasn't THAT much better than I was, but after starving myself for a week I was as weak as a kitten and he just tossed me around like a gorilla does a suitcase. It took me a couple weeks to get back to feeling decent again, pulling big weight sucks balls.

I'd say the best matches I've seen were the Dake/Taylor matches at the Scuffle and NCAA finals, and the Mark Schultz battle against Ed Banach in 1982.

Where is Cassioppi wrestling? I thought he was done?
