  1. Why was he frustrated at watching his teammates compete? I'm assuming he voluntarily redshirted. If the staff forced him to RS I could understand. Is that what happened, he was forced to RS?
  2. LOL! Carl lost his temper!
  3. What does the ref being inbred have to do with anything?
  4. Chair throwing is appropriate in ALL venues as long as the coach has childlike control of his anger
  5. No, didn't see it! Did Tom Ryan throw a chair?
  6. I heard Facundo was transferring to Okie State.
  7. According to wrestlestat Cassar got 3 inj redshirts. I have no idea on the limit. Thanks for answering. i think it would be a splendid freakshow if Cassar was allowed to come back and wrestle another year
  8. Somebody clear me up on this issue. From what I understand everybody who wrestled in 2020 got an extra year of eligibility. Cassar was a Jr in 2020 and wrestled 3 matches, going 3-0, and then took an injury redshirt. Cassar didn't wrestle again in college. Shouldn't he have had technically 2 more years of eligibility? Also since he wrestled in 2020 doesn't that mean he has another year? Seems weird to bring it up over 4 years after Cassar's last match, but Steveson came back after not wrestling for 3 years. Plus, found this video on youtube asking how Steveson was able to come back this year. Apparently the NCAA never received any paperwork for an Olympic year for Steveson.
  9. I thought it was a lot worse during the Dan Gable era. I never liked Gable's antics, which people today seem to have completely forgotten, or perhaps there are very few people today who remember Gable's antics. People talk about Barry Davis, but he wasn't really any worse than Gable was, Gable just got more largesse because he'd won a gold medal and was such a successful college coach. I don't think I've ever seen Cael throw a chair during a dual meet, for example, which I did observe Dan Gable do at a big dual meet back in the 1970s. As a teenager seeing that sort of "Karen" behavior by Gable turned me off completely, successful coach or not. Cael just remains calm and impassive, for the most part, which impresses me far more. He controls his emotions and isn't controlled by them.
  10. There is nothing that screams "charlatan" as loudly as a self-proclaimed lover of baby Jesus. Don't take it from me. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
  11. Respect to the top teams, despite their reliance on the portal. As a wrestling fan I'm less concerned about the details behind the scenes than I am the product on the mat. I'm unhappy with the poaching going on, but the kids get a chance to pocket some money and get to a higher tier program they wanted. That stated I can't help but think the NIL "system" is very bad for college wrestling. How good would a coach have to be to crack onto the podium at a midmajor school without NIL money backing him up? Schwab comes to mind immediately, but can he build up talent wtihout losing it to a bigger school? Probably not if the money is right, sadly.
  12. Does he have an affinity for midgets with rage control issues?
  13. AJ is going to Rutgers now? I thought everybody said it was a done deal he'd join his brother at Iowa?
  14. This is what D1 college wrestling has devolved into, openly buying teams. I hope Iowa scores as many points at NCAAs off these guys as they got off Parco/Teemer this year.
  15. What was insane was how bad Caldwell's offense was whenever he wrestled somebody with a pulse.
  16. Ugh, it must be maddening to finish 4th at the Olympics. Did they not use the repechage system back then, so there wouldn't be a 4th placer, but instead 2 3rd placers?
  17. Both of the Hidlay brothers were NCAA champion material, they just happened to come along at the wrong time.
  18. Hence the only reason Cael is interested.
  19. He finished 2nd at NCAAs at 197. I say leave him at 197 and have him grow into it. He can pack on another 10 pounds of muscle that will come in handy.
  20. I find it very interesting that few people seem to be considering that PSU has a lot tougher room than OSU does and that Welsh will definitely improve more there? Sure, there may be some NIL money involved, but maybe he's just doing the time honored transfer to a school where he'll get better?
  21. Ferrari at HWT next year? The top 3 are done, and the next tier of HWTS are fairly uninspiring. I think Ferrari could take HWT.
  22. He didn't look like he was making much effort to get up for much of that 23 seconds either.
  23. Pretty sad stuff. The guy blew his lid for a legit reason and went too far. If it was me I'd have killed the guy discreetly and they'd have never found the body, but I guess that's not Cain's style. He should do well in prison though, he's huge and knows how to fight. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/mma/article/ufc-legend-cain-velasquez-sentenced-to-5-years-in-prison-for-2022-shooting-210340719.html
