I don't remember Gable's teams ever being as dominant across all the weight classes like PSU today. Plus, and this may annoy some people, I think today's PSU teams would utterly dominate the best Gable teams if we could get a time machine and bring those teams together.

True, but we all know Ferrari isn't going to be at B1Gs or NCAAs, it'll be Arnold. So Tom Brands killed two birds with one stone: he got Ferrari great experience against a 4 time NCAA champion (and I'm sure a good deal of confidence moving forward), plus he helped preserve Arnold's unbeaten record. There's no way Iowa comes close to beating PSU at NCAAs, so might as well preserve Ferrari's RS for next year. Regarding Starocci. Carter Starocci has to be the least intimidating NCAA champion returning this year. I don't understand when a guy has overwhelming talent and physical skills and wrestles so...dull. How can guys stand wrestling like that? Starocci reminded me of Beau Barlett in that match.

It depends. If Ferrari still redshirts, then it won't go on HIS official record as a loss. If he doesn't redshirt it does go on his official record. Cael lost his RS year and it doesn't count against him.

CSU can't ban "the media" from campus, that's literally unconstitutional at a public university. I suppose they can threaten to revoke schollies though or threaten to withhold future information to media. In any case making threats, even empty ones, is a dick move.

I don't think Arnold "ducked" Starocci. I think Tom Brands held him out for seeding reasons.

I'm not sure Plott could beat Arnold or Ferrari, although he'd certainly be favored over Arnold.

A whole lot less. Buchanon/Parco are probably good for 20 points at NCAAs, and Teemer maybe 15-20 points. The scrubs for Iowa at those weights might score 3 points at NCAAs between them, assuming all of the backups qualified. So, figure Iowa's predicted point score at NCAAs would be 52-57 less than it is now (119), so 67-72 points (5th place in tournament rankings).

Disagree. Starocci got some flukish good luck in being able to go for a 5th title. Do you think the rest of the guys on the list of 4 timers wouldn't have won a 5th title if they came back at the age of 24 to try for one? Starocci shouldn't be rewarded with a mythical "best ever" title just because of winning 5 titles due to fluke luck. In fact I think he's clearly inferior to Cael , Dake, and Yianni, regardless of how many titles he wins.

Stieber clearly belongs at the bottom. As far as I'm concerned he has an asterisk next to 2 of his titles. Here's how I have them. 1. Cael 2. Dake 3. Yianni 4. Brooks 5. Smith 6. Starocci 7. *Stieber* Starocci voted down a couple slots because of his boring performance vs. Ferrari.

I picked MM by major, and felt kinda dumb for doing so because I thought Caliendo might keep it to something like 11-5 or such. Wrong. MM is an unstoppable force.

Starocci reminded me of classic "Hawkeye" wrestling in that match: lock up and push. Ugh.

So he's a 133 pounder wrestling 149, and he looks skinny AF to me. He needs to get stronger. I see him getting to legs all the time and not having the power to finish the deal. I remember guys on youtube years ago predicting Carter would be a 4 time AA with a couple NCAA titles based on his win over Gross in FS. I tried to tell them FS and folk were different sports, they wouldn't listen. I thought he'd do a lot better than he has myself.

He needs to gain some muscle. He's a good wrestler with good stuff, but he's not strong enough. He needs to hit the weights more than he needs to improve his technique.
