Ohio State has 3..one specific to Ohio State but the other 2 are a mix of Ohio HS Wrestling and Ohio State.
Most major programs have one. I know OkSt, IASt, VTech, Minny, Cornell are all ones I have bookmarked.
Cannon was an elite recruit before he literally got cancer. Top 10ish on Flo I believe in his class.
Also I never felt Sealey was elite like Lilledahl and PJ Duke are. He took a couple losses towards the end of his Hs S careeer to Joey Blaze and Ethan Birden.
Kharchla is wrestling on 2 good ACL's for the first time in his college career and is barely 1 year out from surgery, hence the bulky knee brace. I remember the last time he wrestled on 2 good ACL's he almost tech'd Mekhi Lewis before he even started college. I could see a top 4 finish for him this year. Next year if he comes back he could be a finalist. Most people aren't 100% until year 2 after ACL surgery.
He was picked to win by many..I think Flo had even split between Brooks and Yazadani in their picks. Either way he was picked to be Gold or Silver by everyone.
NLWC have done well at Worlds no doubt but not so much in the Olympics. Obviously we know what happened this year as all 4 entries underperformed expectations but in 2020/21 they also sent 3 guy and only DT took home the gold. Not saying that was a bad result necessarily though.
So to your question...yes, but I would say that in general to any situation when there is such a heavy concentration at one club.
I mean there are a lot of people to blame for the USA not winning outright including USA Men's Wrestling as a whole and that high jumper who decided not to share the gold medal and instead listen a jump off and the IOC in general who allowed about 20+ Chinese swimmers to compete despite failing doping tests.. Tying with China is a loss to me...
Snyder may not be done at only 28 but he looks to be on the downside of his career and there are at least 3 or 4 World guys that would be clear favorites over him at this point. And then if Brooks goes up a weight well...
I think DT is prol kicking himself and thinking this too..I wonder if that wasn't an impetus to him leaving NLWC. We all know that guys that train together produces some wrestle off results that just aren't accurate due to familiarity. We see it every year with weird upsets during wrestle offs.
