  1. Maybe he said... 1st senior level or first since high school.
  2. So... David is doing it right. He's a positive role model for our young wrestlers.
  3. I wouldn't guess, speculate, surmise why he did it except to believe what he said in the video. Balancing life. As he said, after a while, 100% focus on wrestling is unsustainable. If DTs life is an example of of what is possible through wrestling in America... sign me up. Make him the poster child for USA Wrestling. He seems to be the most balanced multiple World/Olympic champ I have witnessed.
  4. I agree. I have read what he said. I don't agree with Brooks. I disagree that you can't respect or even believe what other religions believe.
  5. I agree with you... The problem is, far right Christians have a narrow view of humanity... It is their way or no way.
  6. There are cross overs in most religions. Some people even believe that God revealed themself differently in different religions with same basic principles. Just because you didn't think one religion can't support/respect/legitimize parts of other religions, doesn't mean others don't do it. By the way, Brooks is 23. Wonder if he would say the same thing when he is 33.
  7. Not a movie, but can't do without a dose of Festivus.
  8. He looks like he did what I wish I did in college. Stop cutting weight keep lifting and wrestle to my potential. But that's not what we did in the 80s and early 90s. He is the prototype of what American wrestlers should be.
  9. In the All Star Classic thread there were some naysayers. I pointed out n that thread that we are fortunate to have access to as much online wrestling as we do and Tayler adds a level that many can't. A few found fault with his take on matches... I like both he and Pyles.
  10. I find it funny, first there was a thread complaining about DT's commentary at the All Star Classic. Now there's a thread complaining about Pyles commentary CKLV. No need for color or play by play. Everyone watching knows enough. Just play the silent video feed.
  11. Thanks for using language that fits your intellect.
  12. So says the person using hyperbole. And yes, if two people disagree there is an argument.
  13. It's interesting when someone tries to win an argument by hyperbolic verbiage.... It is neither as nice as a silk purse or as bad as a a sow's ear... the broadcast was good. I have been with flow since the get go as well. I watch 4K with great surround sound at home, as well as pod casts of all different quality. Access to info, video, news in all formats has changed. I would love if Flow was higher quality and easier to navigate, but it has improved a lot and I'm glad to have the access and content.
  14. Not last night, but the more Taylor commentates the more he may get bigger gigs... NCAAs, Olympics... He is good for the sport. And, I think you are missing something with the Flow broadcast... Nothing wrong with the broadcast of the matches and commentary in the background. Especially since so many people are used to watching pod casts, YouTube channels, streamed sports in other arenas. I watch MLS on Apple TV and that leaves a lot to be desired. People watch the goofy Manning MNF which is not much above amateur broadcasting. I'm just happy we get to see all the streamed wrestling. Not long ago most of wrestling could have been done in a back alley for all we knew since we never got to witness it.
  15. I'd take those ears if his accolades came with.
  16. It speaks for itself if you know wrestling. We need a commentator who can explain to the masses and Taylor can do that.
  17. Iowa Wrestling/Brands probably feel like they ARE wrestling in America and for a while maybe even the world when they had multiple world/Olympic medallists. They have not gotten used to the fact or maybe don't realize there is another team that is better at the national and international level. They used to get away with not only wrestling Iowa Style, but bulldozing their way through media and other situations like they wrestled. Both their wrestling style and how they handle the public needs to change if they want to be relevant again and if they don't want to look like uncivilized morons. If Tom had simply started off by taking responsibility for what his wrestlers did, he may not have garnered so much pushback. But again, his head pressure and continual forward push is so ingrained he may not know how to change course. Feels like he was trying to headsnap the reporters into submission.
  18. Now I can see why he gets along with the Ferrari family. I'm sure he'll welcome the eldest Ferrari to the team and tell him he's an outstanding citizen and was treated unfairly at OSU.
  19. Washington also just started up it's first NAIA varsity program in many years... guys and gals at Evergreen State College. Maybe the movement will continue.
  20. University of Washington's new AD used to be the AD at Northern Iowa. Not sure if he's one of the reasons they don't have a wrestling room, but maybe he can help UW bring back wrestling. You can always hope.
  21. Style match ups... Yaz's underhooks were more effective at stopping Goadisov's head butting and brawling. JB's attack from the outside had to go through Gadisov. Remember the blood and stoppages. I'm on the side of PEDs because Gadisov was not nearly that nasty previously.
  22. He's said as much on FRL a few times recently.
  23. I almost put Vito on my list. Love to watch him. If he can translate his wrestling to coaching that would be amazing. Funt to watch. Dynamic. Technical.
  24. He has no desire to coach at the college level. Just think he would be a good draw, fun, and he's doing an amazing job at the club level it seems. Even some of my non wrestling HS students recognize his poster on my wall from MMA.
