  6. 5 out of the 8 PSU guys who won got tech falls. What are you talking about?
  7. Nagao had nothing. Zero. He was terrible. Horrible
  8. The last two minutes of these basketball games are torture.
  9. You have to get ESPN + through a subscription. 10 bucks for a month directly. Or through another service. And then cancel it after the tournament.
  10. A women's basketball game is on ESPNU now. Hope it doesn't go into OT. It is a 3 point game with 2 plus minutes left. Two #16 seeded teams in a play in game. Ach.

  12. God is apparently on all sides and teams, including the referees. It's going to be tough for him to make the podium. Not sure what the Vegas odds have him at heavyweight.
  13. Oh the ritual of weigh ins, the waiting, and the lines of guys in underwear. The good old days ... not.
  14. I can't believe someone picked Caliendo to reach the finals at 165. He was eviscerated (tech-falled) by Mesenbrink and the two are on the same side of the bracket.

  16. I noticed Bernie has "IV" tattooed on one of his arms. I thought it might be because he has finished 4th three times at NCAAs. But maybe it is because he is the 4th Bernie in the family. If he finishes 4th for a 4th time, there may be a reason to suspect a either a Conspiracy of a Gang of Four, or a Conspiracy of One: Bernie himself opting for consistency.
  17. How much weight are you cutting?
  18. Correct: Anthony Luis Echemendía Orduña is a Cuban freestyle and folkstyle wrestler. A two-time Cuban National medalist in freestyle, Echemendia was the 2024 Big 12 Conference champion out of the Iowa State University, and is currently the fifth-ranked wrestler at 141 pounds. Wikipedia Born: 1999 (age 24 years), Cabaiguan, Cuba Height: 5′ 6″ Weight: 141 lbs College team: Cyclones Weight class: 141 lb (64 kg)
  19. My guess is a few of these guys may have been born in the late 1990's, but don't have time to look it up: Shane Griffith Real Woods Yonger Batisda Austin Gomez Brody Teske Mekhi Lewis Tanner Sloan Bernie Truax
  20. Vitali Orujov is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 61 kilograms. In freestyle, he is the reigning World Champion, as well as a two-time Pan-American gold medalist and the 2023 US National champion. Wikipedia Born: 1999 (age 24 years), Gomel, Belarus Parents: Vugar Orujov Height: 5′ 7″ Weight: 133 lbs Education: Syosset High School Nationality: American Club: Spartan Combat Wrestling Club; Titan Mercury Wrestling Club
  21. Among others: Daton Duain Fix is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 61 kilograms, and collegiately at 133 pounds. Wikipedia Born: 1998 (age 26 years), Sand Springs, OK Height: 5′ 4″ Education: Charles Page High School, Oklahoma State University Parents: Derek Fix, Stacee Fix College team: Oklahoma State Cowboys
  22. NCAA announces they will consider shortening the time between conference tournaments and NCAA championships to 10 minutes (instead of 10 days) because the wrestling community (as revealed by activity on their forums) has debilitating forms of impatience waiting for action to matches to begin again. Studies show drinking has risen in this interim period. So has cursing against spouses, relatives, strangers, and fellow fans. "This ain't the Super Bowl or March Basketweaving Madness," said one super fan. "It's better than that and we don't want commercials between matches either. Let the Dance begin."
  23. Best Enemies Part 2 (after the Taylor-Dake"Frien-emies" Part 1)
  24. I've looked but haven't seen any information on how to watch (TV or stream) the Olympic Trials. Anyone with reliable information? FLO is having a "Watch Party" but that means watching them watch the trials not watching it yourself. It's exactly one month out. Hasn't someone picked up the streaming or TV service?
  25. I find it kind of amazing that there seems to be very few wrestlers each year who don't make weight at NCAAs (and other tournaments) ... at least that we hear about. I'm curious out of 330 wrestlers, how many miss weight through the years? Wrestleknownothing: do you have any data on this matter? I'm betting some of your super sleuthing might turn up something ... unless this is a stumper.
