I'm awake, hopefully people are out there to talk noise with me for a bit
-
I'm watching live tomorrow. @Husker_Du will know all the ins and outs before me. I'll probably have 2 computers running and follow USA Wrestling on twitter to see when we are up next on what mat. I just make it work for me.
-
I got peacock and they make it pretty easy to watch whatever match you want. 0 complaints, and cheap. LETS GOOOOOOO

I kept up throughout the day but getting ready to watch some matches. These results were obviously pretty predictable but maybe not Amit's finals opponent, time to do a little scouting for absolutely no reason. Hope yall enjoyed day 1. I'm here for the early morning sessions, then work calls (BOOOOOOOO) -
It totally would, again I don't think he will make it a season anywhere, heck I don't think he wants to. but yeah. I guess I was just speaking on the fact that his talent/accomplishments are now being overshadowed by the personality. He's just too far removed from ruling the world to act like he rules the world.......Whoever was comparing it to Bassett above.... I mean one is a wholesome kid who competes as much as possible and is humble in victory and defeat...... and the other is a trash talking flexer, who's been chaotic everywhere he goes and hasn't completed a season in 3 years. What will he be a 23/24 year old Sophomore? Its' just not the same in any capacity. I mean if he doesn't compete this season can we stop entertaining it. I swear he'll be 43 posting videos about taking his talents to McKendree, flexing and double birding all us doubters, while teasing his jump to UFC as he beats up some waiter from Red Robin he paid 20bucks to throw on a headgear and spar with him. He simply needs to compete and show people what he can do, and the videos will feel more "Normal" or "Appropriate"

Dude was just IT, on top of the world, 665 Deadlift baby....... I mean he really had the college wrestling world by the horns.... Now it's just a joke. As a fan, its starting to be a little pathetic/thirsty, it went from "Feed me content you're so entertaining" to "Alright you're doing the splits in (insert state) and talking about your genetics, why were you relevant ever?"..... As a human, it guts me every-time I see an athlete, especially a wrestler squander opportunities. This dude could've been just one of the greats ever. A few bad choices, probably some bad advice, we remember a dominant freshman champ turned laughing stock and its sad man. Wish him nothing but the best, but even if he wins 3 more somehow, it's beyond tainted and somehow wont garner the praise it deserves. He's just somehow a drain (And no I dont think he wins 3 more, 1 more complete season would genuinely shock me)

lol I still am seeing Brooks vs Yaz round 1 for the epic upset, then Kurugliev over Brooks and Amine over Kurugliev for the most ridiculous final outcome over. But realistically who knows. Coinflip if he gets top or bottom, but clearly top-side would be more advantageous
-
Yeah I mean, I do get it. We are kind of on an island out here when it comes to "meaningful" wrestling. Your point is totally valid though. I just wish there was kind of I don't know, any system to increase the number of high level events and have those events be taken seriously, because the one currently in place, nobody seems to care.
-
Rivera and Sacultan are the 2 seeded guys there, with 2 to be drawn in, realistically they have no real chance of placing (I know Rivera upset Tevanyan before with a miracle but lets not forget they wrestled again) but man..... Whoever gets drawn into that quarter, talk about a gift. If its a top guy (Zain, Kiyooka, Akmataliev, heck even Tobier-Valdes) only having to pull off one "Difficult" win to be an Olympic Finalist... Nice. Hopefully it's Zain and he gets the winner of Gomez/Rivera second match. Wrestling for Bronze from there would be no cakewalk against Ochir/Tevanyan or random top notch draw-in but still. Drawing into the top half at all is a real gift. Sometimes I dislike that it's not more realistically seeded, but I do like the idea of encouraging athletes to be more active at ranking series events. Wish brackets were out already.

I like Abakarov, I really like that he's on Micic's side. That is all. Lee is a landmine, the top 10 can all upset each other in any given match. It's anyone's guess.
-
I know this is the sentiment somehow across America but man I hope he gets a decent draw and not an Abakarov, Aman, or Higuchi right off the jump. I'd like him to get a warm up match
-
They all have a shot to be drawn into ideal situations. They also have a shot at being drawn into the worst possible situation. All could medal, all could miss the podium. Draws are everything. Cept with RBY He's simply missing the podium or bring me all the crow I can stomach.
-
WHat kind of comments do you want about them
-
I swear 87% of the time he looks like the best wrestler at the weight, I mean dude's won Euros every year for forever (exaggeration) I think he even beat Abakarov recently........ but I just don't trust him. If he wrestled Micic right now I would take him, so clearly I think those 2 lines are wrong, but he'll find his way to Bronze, as always. Lol who am I kidding, worth a flier
-
Draw absolutely matters, there's just guys he will be favored against and guys he won't and there's more guys he wont..... RBY is absolutely favored over. Darian Cruz (I think) Maybe the Egyptian Gamal Mohamed or Dimantino Luna Fafe But Egorov, Lee, Uulu, Rzazade, Zou, Abdullaev, Aman, Abakarov, Kartbay, Harutyunyan, Higuchi, and even Micic (based on experience alone, ignore the world title) You'd have to consider him an underdog, things can be wacky, but it just seems more likely RBY draws a tough guy, and if he miraculously pulls it off, he is rewarded but another tough one.
-
you sound like a true degenerate like me I'm bound to do some women's, and I'll add some throughout the week, lol I'll post my final list the 4th, and we can slowly watch me waste 700-1000 bucks lol Kiyooka is going to make it worth it though, and of course, no matter what my mind tells me, my heart will force me to throw 50 on Chamizo. Geno at +500 almost forced my hand but I'm such a Zare guy, I just can't see it
-
Money I have absolutely lit on fire. Abakarov +650 Kiyooka +1800 The field at 74kg (Kadi + Tsabalov essentially) +1200 No 86kg or 125kg bets Azarpira +750 (and I'm Sure I'm not done... but I dropped 100 on each of those, lol give me 1 winner)
-
Its the Reece Humphrey Worlds or Freshman Austin Desanto deal... hell even Zain's first Worlds,, somebody made me a straight up bet on here (I offered 4:1 and even offered simply medals) that he wins GOLD.... they paid which was cool, but it was just insane how the hype outweighed reality. Some attention gets behind some athletes and everyone somehow forgets about the competition. I'd be semi-shocked if he (RBY) wins more than one match (2 in a row feels impossible, but maybe Repachage)
-
Yall better hold off on these RBY expectations.
-
My Book is offering lines now and dangit, I'm about to lose the house. Somebody pray for me
-
lol @nhs67 you're the best. Your homerism knows no bounds and I hope every last one of your predictions down to the streaking African come true. Side note. Jim L got me thinking, is 4.5 a good Over/Under on Greco matches won. Heavyweight is a little bit of a wildcard. 4.5 feels like the right #
-
Thanks for being the BOLDEST. I really keep picturing this happening btw. Both the draw and you slamming delicious Natural Lights. Brooks over Yaz and then losing, I'm sure they'll get drawn into separate halves. But I'm telling you, I think you just typed it into existence, manifestation and all that nonsense. Wish the tournament started today..... sigh
-
About 5 guys I'm sure Spicy would prefer not to draw himself. I just rewatched Snyderman vs Azarpira, I sure hope they just don't meet in the tournament. lol If Dake ends up being our only finalist I'll be a little sad, No finalist would obviously be more saddening (not my bold prediction) Maybe just maybe wouldn't it be something if Brooks beat Yaz and then lost to whoever makes it from the other side. (I don't see it happening as only Magic Man himself has been able to accomplish this, going on what 7+ years?) I dont know, I ask for people to step out and say something wild and I get nothing, but I myself say nothing wild. I guess ummmm sh*t I don't believe anything worth outlandish I even try to type. 57kg: Spicy Lee doesnt medal seems to be outlandish talk on these boards so I'll go with that 65kg: even though I'm a big Mamedov person give me a Kiyooka surprise gold. 74kg: I wouldn't have any cojones if I didn't blindly back Chamizo. Your 2024 surprise Olympic Gold Medalist 86kg: Maybe Brooks vs Amine for Bronze? That'd be fun drama but nothing bold here. Yazadani vs whoever gets to go to the lucky side. 97kg: I mean The kid has been a wrecking machine. Snyder winning seems far fetched at this point. So Snyderman brings home Gold (I genuinely have a hard time picturing it, so I hope it happens) 125kg: I dont know, I think Zarely Legal runs through everyone, but for sh*ts lets say Parris beats Geno and hits a short firemans on Zare to take an early lead but then gets teched like most everyone will
-
Anyone feel strongly about anything bold? I hope somebody is sitting on a nugget out there that they believe to be true when the rest of us have no idea. Obviously the 1 seed losing at 57, 65, 86kg is expected. Maybe a Dake or a Zare loss? Hilde Beats Susaki? USA wins a Greco Medal? Maybe a specific wrestler wins a specific weight? Obviously half of you think Spencer is untouchable so "Meh" to the boldness. Gimme something like Kiyooka Olympic Champ. Tsalkazanov finally gets it done. Kurugliev shocks the world. Azarpira wins every match 2-2 criteria. Something shocking ..... Bold!!!! Its Sunday and I'm bored.
