  1. So you are saying a good referee would ignore the clear written rule on the definition of control, and use his "common sense" instead? I don't see any downside here at all.
  2. He was not behind. If he had been behind him, and the same thing happened it would have been a TD. Those are the rules as written. Reaction time applies unless you are in the rear standing position. You can't have referees deciding a rule is bad for the sport and making their own calls. Well, Angel Rivera does.
  3. How would you define "reaction time" in measured seconds? Just curious.
  4. The slow motion confirms what I was saying all along. Your issue is that you don't understand the rules. And to use your analogy from the NFL, you still have to establish control before dragging your toes. Otherwise it is not a catch. The rules state that you must establish control beyond reaction time. You would have to sell that reaction time is measured in tenths of a second.
  5. Did you look at the screenshot I posted and the time on the scoreboard? You can't get a better angle of where Robb's feet are. You can't use slow motion of lesser angles as proof of something that has already been disproved by better evidence.
  6. You have to establish control before you lose control. There has to be control beyond reaction time to establish control. That sequence all happened in less than one second which is proven by the clock. No reaction time before being out of bounds...no control, therefore no TD.
  7. You are absolutely incorrect in your interpretation. Look at the times. They are both at 2 seconds. There was no control gained beyond reaction time before they were out of bounds. It is cut and dried. Sorry.
  8. So if being a 4 timer is the end all be all, if Starocci wins 5, is he the undisputed GOAT?
  9. Jason Nolf would have to be on the extended list based on 3X Champ, 1X Runner-up, and only loss after freshman season was by injury default. His only losses over 5 years including red shirt year was twice to Imar by a combined 1 point and James Green his red shirt year. His dominance rankings are right up with the best of them.
  10. I know. That's what I meant by correct! I sobered up.
  11. Where did this narrative that he has no offense come from? He's averaged 9.5 points scored per match including 4 losses where he scored 1-2-2-3. I think he figures out Johnson, Gomez (dinged), and Murin in the NCAA Tournament if he faces them. Sasso remains a problem for him but isn't unbeatable. He's not beating Yianni wherever he meets him, so the draw matters a ton. All that said, he could be beaten by a Milner or Thomas very easily. Correct!
  12. I thought they were going to be interviewing Cael. WFT?
  13. I would expect Kerkvliet to out bonus last year by a fair margin. He scored 2.5 last year.
  14. I'm surprised that everyone seems higher on Facundo's chances than SVN's. I agree that SVN has shown the ability to be ridden, and hasn't shown a diverse attack from neutral. However, some guys have that "it" factor that is hard to quantify. SVN has the "it" factor. And he's tough on top and that's key at NCAAs. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see SVN in the finals regardless of what happens at B1Gs. The only one I really think he'd have a hard time with is AOC and he'll only have one shot. Facundo would have a great tournament if he AAs. That's just a brutal weight with experienced guys. There were lots of pundits saying Starocci didn't have enough offense to threaten 2 years ago. But if you are within a point of your opponent in the 3rd period and have heart, all bets are off.
  15. That was the most fun I had watching a wrestling match in a long time. Thanks to both for not ducking. I voted KOT duck BTW. Smart of him not to. Now he has things to work on.
  16. This is what people don't understand about the Penn State coaches style. They let the wrestler wrestle their own style and be their own person. Google some interviews with Quentin Wright. He articulates it very well. He said that he was trying to be Cael when he first got the coaching job and was regressing. The coaches encouraged him to wrestle like Quentin Wright rather than Cael Sanderson. Well, the results speak for themselves. And the team gets along very well with Carter, as do the coaches. And the results speak for themselves there as well. Two individual titles. Two team titles. Probably three and three in a month.
  17. You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out...
  18. Did he have a second kerfuffle after the match this past Friday in addition to his match after Dean? I didn't see Friday's match.
  19. Yeah. I do owe you an apology for that one.
  20. Guys, it was an Iowa joke. Nothing more. You dudes need to lighten up. As if someone would argue that Drexel is a better program than Iowa. Hmmm, although outside Spencer they've had the same number of NCAA champs since before Desanto was in middle school.
  21. Well, they actually did.
