  1. Had Kerkvliet not been injured before the tournament you would have essentially been correct as he probably would have ended up third, if not second, instead of MFF'ing to 6th.
  2. The last time the Yankees won a World Series was 2009, which coincidentally was when Cael joined Penn State. Since 2009 Penn State has won twelve titles under Cael, so we're gonna' have to choose another Dynasty for comparison : )
  3. Per the NCAA Rulebook: First Sudden-Victory Period. In tournament or dual-meet competition when competitors are tied at the end of three regular periods, the first round of overtime shall begin with a sudden-victory period of two minutes with no rest between the regular match and the sudden-victory period. The sudden victory period will begin with both wrestlers in the neutral position. Exception: Nonbleeding injury timeout. If, because of a first nonbleeding injury timeout, a wrestler secures one minute of riding time at the conclusion of the sudden victory period, that wrestler shall be awarded one point for riding time and be declared the winner.
  4. They lose Bartlett also.
  5. I believe Josh stays at 197 for next season. Staying at 197 will allow Barr to continue to add good weight (he has mentioned he cuts a few pounds to make 197) while still being able to cut down to 86 kg for freestyle events. I believe wrestling 184 is less optimal for his freestyle pursuits as a cut down to 86kg from 197 seems like a better strategy than wrestling as a small (relatively) 86kg'er who comes up from 184 lbs. Cutting to 86 kg while wrestling 197 was successful for Bo and Aaron. Even Taylor was cutting a lot of weight at the end to make 86 kg.

  7. Gracias! I was making the mistake of hitting the red plus sign button.
  8. Pardon my ignorance, but how does one reply to a specific post on this forum? TIA
  9. The whole RS matches topic is interesting. I had written this on another forum: Even the older redshirt rules could result in "career" records that didn't always align with the perception of what a wrestler's career record should have been. I will use Logan Stieber as an example. His official career record is 119-3, but he actually had a 5-3 record his freshman year before he was injured and was later granted a medical hardship waiver for that year, thus officially erasing those eight matches from his "career" record: "Stieber started the 2010-11 college season as the starting 125-pounder as a true freshman for the Buckeyes, but he tore ligaments in his left hand in December. He had a 5-3 record at that point and was sidelined for the rest of the college season."
  10. 125 #33 Luke Lilledahl, Penn State TF #21 Charlie Farmer, Army 19-4 in 6:13.
  11. In the interview I have attached she says she feels as strong at 68kg as she did at 72kg and that she still lifts as much weight in her weight training sessions as she did previously. She did look fairly tired by the end of the match, but she did mention that wrestling at elevation is harder. If she looks this good on her first cut down to 68kg in quite some time, I think she will have no problems going forward as she prepares to qualify the weight for the United States. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMi5BbqgCT4ideo

  13. I am not arguing either way regarding the p4p discussion, but Sadulaev did just have a very close 3-2 victory over Alikhan Zhabrailov at the Russian 2023 World Team wrestle-off. Video
  14. Updated again. Seven combined age and senior World Championships medals (six being gold) since 2019, and still only 19, which is just incredible. I must confess I thought her competition would start finding ways to at least slow her down, but it hasn't happened! Regarding her last loss, it was in the semis of the 2019 Cadet World Championships where she lost to her Japanese opponent 3-1. She was in the lead with :25 seconds remaining, but was then taken down. She took third that tournament.
