  1. yessir biggest bullets seem to be rby at 57 although he did not look great with a 2kg allowance against deshazer and also gut taken down and gutted by kael lauridsen who's a college freshman training at the otc this year I wonder if the cut is hard for him and then Andreu I heard is the guy for Cuba at 65kg hes been good at 57 but I think he will be undersized and nick is probably just better anyhow.
  2. watching masoumi move around mason and the proceed to get moved around by zare was one of the more alarming things ive ever seen in the sport. The two of them are 23 and 20 respectively although in iran that may mean 33 and 30 so they may have that weight on lock for a long time. Someone like greg is our best bet because of his size and being so dynamic but im not sure he can stay in the hand fight especially for 6 minutes his gas tank always concerns me a bit.
  3. he won super 32 as an 8th grader but was teching state placers routinely as a 9th grader actually got stuck by ungar in the finals of states in a tilt from rear standing but he had beaten gary steen twice that year and gary was a menace in HS.
  4. I agree herring seems to just be there because of the guys below him hes definitely a bit undersized for 145 by saturday theyll have 3lbs on top of the +2 they get post christmas so could see some very wild lineup moves. Gibson seems to have been really hindered by his injuries I remember watching him just kill kids his freshman years to losing to underclassman now as a senior.
  5. he kind of did have to red shirt everyone was given a free year so it would have been foolish to not compete. He started the year at 157 and was undersized you also act like Jake Wentzel was not a national finalist this year. The benefit of taking a red shirt is immense he will still (if he wins) have 4 national titles in 5 years like most all the other 4x champs besides Dake and Yianni who did it in 6.
  6. he gave up two pushouts in like the last 15 seconds in 2021 and then tsebalov beat sidakov in 2020 and zhamalov won that Russian nationals
  7. he never red shirted aside from kyle all the other 4xers red shirted so I think it should count exactly the same
  8. ryder kinda just ran through the edinboro open (very weak field) and I think luke could win ncaas if he was in college this year as wells as connor having already beaten wick and dean albeit in freestyle so I think all of those guys could go right away. Ryder did wrestle 174 I thought he may be a bit bigger I would guess facundo is better than him at the moment still but who knows.
  9. I am by no means an Iowa hater I will probably be rooting for them in most of the matches Friday, but I have been of the opinion for awhile that the Brands should go regardless of the outcome of this dual. I feel like they have not done a great job of developing guys when you compare them to a program like PSU or ohio state or even a mizzou or NC state. They have a top recruiting class every year but a lot of those guys seem to stay at a relatively similar level that they came in at perhaps im being too critical. When you couple that though with the ferrari situation I just felt like that was a terrible decision all together and everyone seemed to know that.
  10. I believe Willie has them at 7 and 14 Mccort has outplaced a lot of teams ahead of them at powerade and ironman without their full lineup so I think this is essentially two top 10's they are across from each other in the state bracket so should make for an awesome final. FCA Nationally ranked guys: Bachmann 1 106 Botero 6 120 Stein 18 150 Weidmoyer (ranked prior to injury) 160 waters 5 175 (Also effendian at 285 and wagner at 152 were cadet AA's at fargo) Mccort Nationally ranked guys Forrest 2 126 Gibson 15 132 Bassett 1 138 Herring 15 145 Miller 6 152
  11. anyone over 285 that is athletic enough to compete at a d1 level will likely be playing collegiate football especially with NIL the way it is now at least in my opinion.
  12. 125: ayala over davis 3-0 iowa 133: nagao over schriever/teske (if teske 4-3 if schriever 3-3) 141: beau over real but I think they may throw out Evans to lock 1 seed at big 10's 6-3 PSU hoping beau wrestles 149: I think this one will be scrappy but given it to kasak 9-3 PSU 157: gonna go no takedowns but Levi gets riding time 12-3 PSU 165: caliendo leading after first period but gets reverse carvered and majored 16-3 PSU 174: please give us Gabe Starocci, Carter over Gabe 19-3 PSU 184: Im guessing PK wrestles Carter and we get Gabe here which is also exciting but not as exciting 4 for PSU if riggens 3 if PK but could push for 4 PK will be tiny 23-3 PSU 197: major for brooks pushes for tech 22-3 psu 285: tech for Kirk 27-3 psu
  13. thats true I have not gotten to watch a ton of Wyatt in all honesty, Yonger has looked outstanding.
  14. 125 Davis 7th ( I dont think losing on the front side will cause him to wrestle any differently kid seems like a gamer and the weight is obviously nuts. My biggest question mark is still seeing him against someone thats gonna be in on his legs) 133 Nagao r12 (seeding feels very important for him to me so could come down to how he does at big10's I'm quite high on nasir bailey, wells, moore, shawyver who are all ranked behind him at the moment but we will likely get to see the shawyver match which will obviously change my thoughts) 141 Bartlett 2nd (kid knows how to win even though it rarely looks decisive, I am giving real a slight edge still given the h2h and having been in the finals I also think losing is probably going to be a kick in the ass for him) 149 Kasak 7th ( I think we have 3 true freshman in the blood round with kasak,Webster and watters) 157 Haines 5th (another one where I think his draw could be a big factor teemer, zerben, meyer I would all probably pick against him right now but again that could change post big10's) 165 Mesenbrink 4th (this weight is insane I think he pushes either keegan or carr in the semis if keegan i think he may get cradled keegan has probably the best cradle in collegiate wrestling and I've seen mitchell have a cradle locked up on him by both ruiz and hepner now I think despite being better than julian he may get a bit sad on the backside and lose for 3 and 4 and then maybe never lose again similar to zain 174 Starocci 1st (Ive said I think this weight is weak and thats not to detract from carter I think hed win if it was a strong weight I just dont see anyone even having a shot of beating him) 184 Truax 7th (I think being in college for as long as he has may be biting him a bit just has not looked quite as good as previous years. He certainly could finish higher, and it would not surprise me in the slightest) 197 Brooks 1st (really excited for the trent match and buchannen although I dont think we will get to see both unfortunately) HWT Kerk 1st (wyatt I think will wrestle him better but kerk looks incredible right now)
  15. very fun match really thought Surtin could have had backs twice but both guys wrestled super hard
  16. Kade Moore sick will not wrestle Mizzou forfeiting 133
  17. spratley rides momentum of figs win and avoids any big moves 3-0 okie state daton wins but kade gets a takedowns and threatens putting him to his back 6-0 okie state Gioffre keeps it respectable 9-0 okie state hoping to see Williams here I just prefer watching him wrestle 12-0 okie state harold Brock hits 2 go behinds 12-3 Keegan does not let olejnik go shin whizzer and puts on a clinic 12-7 thompson gets his biggest win of they year in a boring one with mocc 15-7 plott puts it on whiting 19-7 rocky bounces back and avenges last years loss 19-10 big Elam remains undefeated 19-13 OSU ( I hope I math'd correctly)
  18. joey beat yianni at a ranking series but lost to beau so not sure how that shakes out. Meyer likely goes 74kg same with lockett.
  19. better to happen here than trials although I never like to see someone get a concussion
  20. Thats kinda my point I think Yaz beat him 9-3 but he was obviously still physically maturing a ton given where he wrestles now where as Aaron and maintained the same size same with Chamizo although to not the same degree.
  21. if figs is healthy and finds his form that is gonna be one hell of a landmine come NCAA's because even if he wins out at this point I would imagine hes going to have a low seed
  22. more so thinking about his match with tom crook last year that he got beat quite badly in. I think he would have a very hard time finishing on longer guys and while hes very good on bottom against guys who throw legs he seems to struggle against more conventional rides even at 133.
  23. I am also not a PSU fan but ultimately it will count as a win and not effecting seeding in anyway also kinda evens out the illegal cutback Vinnie hit on him at dapper dan I guess. I just think this reaction time thing is crazy I personally did not think it was even a position where danger needed to be counted I thought he was on his back long enough that it was just a takedown.
  24. I have admittedly only watched Nic at the clarion open V-tech dual and CKLV but that was far and away the best hes looked especially getting to legs. I think he may have some weight cut issues because he looked in all honesty bad at clarion and on day one at CKLV he looked terrible. If I recall national duals was also a two day weigh in so that may be something to look out for at big 10's and NCAA's. Unfortunately for him I don't think he has the frame for 141 and I assume cannon will go 149 moving forward and Jesse will stay at 141.
