FRL would be good if they talked about wrestling.
Truzzcat replied to Threadkilla's topic in College Wrestling
he said he wants to devote all his time towards coaching. I feel like he likely makes some reappearances because I doubt a T,Th show for an hour from 8:30-10 hampers his ability to coach that much. -
im not sure how danny fongaro or jordan hamden snagged allocations over crook

There's no wrestling this weekend aside from pan am's and NJ states so there was not really a ton for them to talk about aside from carter hypotheticals. Generally, Tuesdays they recap the weekend and Thursdays they do picks and talk about the upcoming duals. I personally enjoy the banter although it may lose some of its luster once ben is done. -
Vito vs michael mcgee pt 2 last year

was there ever any confirmation on the tweet about carter dislocating his knee or was he talking out his ass again.
-
I think hed likely still be our rep however I dont think he can compete with zare only training a little bit the past two years when zare has a guy like masoumi pushing him for his own team spot.

Hope SVN can stay healthy seems like hes had the injury bug dating back to HS

Biggest Darkhorse's to make a run at NCAA's
Truzzcat replied to Truzzcat's topic in College Wrestling
love the molton shout hes super athletic and has not lost since December which I think is something only one other 125'er Matt Ramos can say. -
Team that can beat penn state if they all get blessed by god the night before NCAA's and everything that could go wrong for psu does NC state Camacho stays in form wins 125 Orine draws in opposite side of fix and vito is not healthy/is cutting for trials already makes finals ryan jack reaches back on beau in the quarters like he did eierman but gets the fall call and then proceeds to beat whoever the 4 seed is makes the finals but loses because lightning cannot possibly strike 3 times Jackson arrington gets the first takedown on ridge then chooses neutral and proceeds to circle but gets 2 stall calls on ridge for getting himself pushed out. Goes on to stun henson in the finals. Ed scott throws people and gets a lot of pins AA's I got nothing at 165 Nc state says f it and pulls singletons red shirt for confrences and he shows why he beat gabe arnold in 2 matches at u20's takes out a hobbled carter in the semis and avenges his ACC finals loss to mehki (in this hypothetical he loses to mehki at acc's) Fishback steals all of tj stewarts speed like its space jam and AA's Trent beats Aaron in the finals (the most realistic prediction on here imo) and celebrates by punching himself with one hand and holding a hoagie with the other trephan AA's

Biggest Darkhorse's to make a run at NCAA's

hes going to be an absolute nightmare to seed with wins over mendez, lachlan, jack, crook. I cannot name someone off the top of my head with better wins but he has a lot of really bad losses too. -
I think he was the clear #2 in Russia having beaten baev the last two times they wrestled 9-1 and 9-3 however that was almost 18months ago you could argue bizhoev or valiev but Zhamolov to me is the most talented guy at the weight. As you said he definitely lacks experience and savviness as well as perhaps the mental to win consistently but I think he can beat anyone in a given match certainly not a guy id want to draw in before the semis.

gotta love mineo reporting news that no other outlet has reoprted and stating it like its fact.

I agree the committee is allowed to move someone within one seed of what the formula spits out so I was saying I could see them moving carr to 1 and MM to 2 to avoid a Carr vs Keegan semi. Not entirely sure I would agree with that, but I think its possible.
-
I'm not sure he can jump Jacori/Zerban assuming they win conferences and I don't know if blockhus takes second at big10's if he will pass him or potentially franek taking second, I should have said 4/5 although that seeding is rather immaterial.
-
assuming meyer wins EIWA's (he should) I would imagine he slots in somewhere around 5-6 he has really good wins and if he does not win EIWA's hes just not beating levi.
-
I think a 1 loss carr may still garner the 1 seed given his loss does not have a loss to MM and the committee can move within one spot of what the forumla spits out, and I doubt the consensus will be that KOT and carr should hit in the semis.

I've heard across all of their athletics they put an extreme emphasis on technical perfection above anything else. That seems especially evident in their combat sports i.e. judo and wrestling.

Im a big fan of that WVU team in general I think strickenberger,Titus,Watters,Hall could all end up on the podium -
I wish matty singleton was wrestling for NC state I think he would really push them to be possibly top 2

is it joey davis and carlton hasselrig?

This past weekend or two we've the seeming resurgence of Jakob camacho and richie figs. We also saw Tj stewart look absolutely incredible against dylan fishback. So it made me start thinking about lower seeded guys or guys that dont get the shine who could make noise at NCAA's and was wondering what your guys picks are. Me personally I like TJ, Figs and stephen little to do some serious damage relative to the publics perception of them.

It's time: Predict the 2024 125 pound NCAA champ
Truzzcat replied to peanut's topic in College Wrestling
i'm a bit concerned with any of the guys that are content with 1 score matches I think surtin may be my pick I really thought he should have gotten backs against spratley and the neck does not seem to be an issue. If camacho can get the cut down I think hes a strong pick as well aside from the obvious ramos. -
There has definitely been a focus on making youth world teams that has come about in the last 10 years or so. That seems to be even bigger to a lot of kids than even like a super 32 belt. I think coupling that with the OTC and all the high level clubs kids are just much better overall at a younger age and especially at freestyle verses even 10 years ago. As for the greco results I think it is definitely less popular but also very few kids dedicate themselves to greco whereas in most other nations you specialize in greco at a very young age. Someone like Joel adams for example who is probably our best greco prospect in years has just in the last year fully committed to training it and that may just be for this olympic push. I think its hard to make up 8-10 years of training something specifically. Especially given the far bigger discrepancy between folk and greco than free and folk.

perhaps he will take a thing out of sidakov's book and adapt that outside step to a head outside low single to kinda get around the chest wrap. I will make up any scenario in my head I can for jordan to get on the team lol.
-
I wonder if training situations change when you transfer too. I would imagine they are not super keen on the idea that someone from another nation could take a medal. Thats why im interested to see how taz does moving forward being the primary threat to Sadulaev. All that said I think zhamolov could absolutely win a gold medal if hes healthy hes incredible at his best.
