I will bet 200 PC (pastry coin) that Koll isn't doing this for a salary bump. If he were (only 2 yr post big promises) it'd be a good sign to both AD's that you are not seriously trying to save & elevate the wrestling program.

Find me an example of a head D1 wrestling coach (or fb or bb) that gets a great salary etc deal to another D1 program who then two years later in interviewing with a lesser D1 program and is just doing so to get a salary bump.

I'd expect its open competition for the spot. Whitcraft looked better than Mastro once he got comfortable down to weight but next year could be different.

Just the fact he took the trip kind of tells you he is getting the support he was expecting from Stanford, not a good sign for the future of the program.

I think many of us saw this coming with NIL etc. that the rich would get richer and the demise of smaller programs/conferences and clearly the B10 likely to benefit most. But who expected the rich (b10) would eat their own? Recent data suggests a new market price for top unproven talent, we had info last year+ on the price of proven "sure thing" talent. It appears to put together a team with ten top notch wrestlers it'll take a war chest able to generate $1M in payments per year. Of course that's current winning bids, next year - who knows. How many programs, areas etc. can generate that kind of annual NIL wrestler value?
