Honestly if you act like an asshole to people in public and encourage violence you shouldn't exactly be surprised if it backfires in some way. The reason he lost and is likely to lose again is because he is an asshole to people who he disagrees with or doesn't like. For all of Bush II's miscues, the worst he had was somebody who threw a shoe at him and that pesky pretzel. This is despite being in charge of the country when we entered into a pointless war with only vaguely defined objectives that cost trillions and killed a lot of people. But he wasn't an asshole with no redeeming qualities.

I think there is a difference between being an angry weirdo and somebody who believes they are implausibly acting on behalf of somebody who doesn't know or care they exist. The guy who took a shot at Trump is dead, but from everything I read, it sounded like he just wanted to kill a famous politician and Trump was convenient. The other guy who didn't even get close, again just an angry weirdo. This guy, Comello told the court he thought that he was directly working on behalf of Trump and wouldn't face trouble over his actions because of it. If the Mafia ever finds him then I don't think they'll employ any kind of due process and kill him in some terrible way. I have yet to hear of anyone saying that they thought murdering people was something Biden, Harris, etc would immediately forgive them for.

If it was past the statute of limitations, then his lawyers should have easily had the charges dismissed. Some of what they alleged was past, but when you commit a crime like that, there are usually two things going on. You committed a crime, but you also had to conspire to do so. Conspiring to commit a crime is also illegal. That has a different limitation. Also when you do something to further another crime, that is also illegal. So if I use money from my business to pay a bribe to somebody, and then lie about the reason, that is illegal. So these are not "misdemeanors", these are things that if average people did them they would already be in jail for. And Trump's primary motivation for wanting to be president is to avoid going to prison, getting investigated more and charged with more crimes, and to use the office to enrich himself and people around him. The guy is so transparent about his motives. He really doesn't care about anyone or anything besides himself or his own interests.

He didn't do so because he was delusional and believed that he was working directly on behalf of Clinton or whoever, and would get protected for his actions. He was just a nut who Democrats also condemned.

Because I think it's funny that it nearly caused a Mafia war to happen, and the truth behind it is even more bizarre than just a simple random shooting. Of all people to target, you target somebody like that for some strange reason, after failing to arrest two prominent politicians, and put yourself in danger, not just of going to prison, but being killed in retaliation extrajudicially. Only Trump could inspire that kind of batshit insane reasoning in people.

I don't think many countries could really stop Israel from doing that. I don't think Iran is inept, maybe in some ways, but overall they are capable of more than most people probably think. But if they made a full on frontal assault, they'd lose badly even if they had some initial success. Similar to the 73 War. They'd have one shot to win and if they missed it would turn ugly for them in a hurry.

He's a clown that lives on credit. Practically everything he "owns" is mortgaged to the hilt. Why do you think he won't release his financial records? It's because he's terrified of people realizing he's in deep shit financially and no more American banks will do business with him. The day he croaks, will be the day his creditors seize everything. The only value he has is that he's dangerously close to becoming president again, otherwise his only other redeeming value is that he was an asshole to people on TV once. I won't bother pointing out his failure to success ratio. It's pretty skewed in one direction. The sad part is if he had done the bare minimum or almost nothing, he would be an actual billionaire and not have himself moved in all kinds of legal issues. But his stupid belief that he's some kind of business genius led him here. So he has nobody to blame but himself.

I still don't understand why anyone believes Trump cares about anyone or anything but his own interests. This is a guy who was born rich, has never held a real job or had to work for anything, and imagining he cares about the average person unless it suits his interest? Trump wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. He despises people who don't have something that benefits him. If he didn't need people to vote for him, he wouldn't even pretend to give a shit.

I think it's kind of a funny but also disturbing coincidence that a mentally disturbed guy thought he had the full protection of Trump to act like this. He was also found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

They do have a capable military. But if they wanted a large scale conflict now, it would have happened. I believe they have somewhere near 1 million active duty in their military with around half that number in the reserve forces. It isn't like Iran is some backwards place. The only thing keeping them back is knowing Israel would carpet bomb them to hell in retaliation for anything. Like if they tried to take out Tel Aviv or something. Iran doesn't want it, but to suggest this is the best they've got is absurd.

I didn't miss it. Iran is much more capable than that.

They obviously aren't trying very hard or there would be a large scale war going on right now. Do you ever get tired of sounding or looking stupid when you talk about things you have no clue about?
