I think it's funny how a bunch of people are willing to believe somebody with a long and well documented history of lying, deceipt, and habitual dishonesty (not to mention being on the losing end of litigation repeatedly) is now somehow the victim of some vast conspiracy. Instead of thinking about this in rational terms, like any normal person should, and realizing, hey, maybe this guy who has been a liar and con man for decades might be full of it and trying to save his own ass.

Why would they want to be? They're part of the EU. They get free healthcare. They are afforded other rights and privileges they'd forfeit if they were part of the US. It would be a big L for them.

If that is how you need to do it because you're afraid of being murdered, yes. I once worked with somebody to get their application approved who hopped the border and immediately sought out the border patrol and practically kissed the ground up on surrendering to them. His parents got murdered over a dispute with a business rival who was connected to the government and his brother got disappeared as well. He was next and wisely split to avoid the same thing. You aren't in that situation. If it's life or death, you're going to hop that border and happily sit in detention and say thank you every step of the way because the alternative is being dragged out of your house and shot. Fortunately we are a nation that has due process and that extends to anyone in this country.

Generally showing up and asking is how it works. Usually if you're seeking asylum you don't tell anyone in advance because you're facing consequences in your home country. I've seen various reasons for claiming asylum. From "I got gang raped and would again if I returned" to "The government murdered my dad and would put me in prison for having a different opinion" as reasons. Usually if somebody is fearful of being killed, that's pretty good motivation for trying to stay here.

Johnni DiJulius played Matt McDonough in the movie. I think Cory Janzten was in it somewhere too. There were some liberties, like ASU losing a whole season, the program for dropped for less than 2 weeks. Also there was no mention of Thom Ortiz, the ASU coach when Anthony started as a walk on. Overall it was pretty accurate, just some Hollywood liberties to make it more dramatic like you'd expect.

This isn't about municipal fire departments. The people who fight wildfires are not part of that. How stupid are you? The forest service and other agencies handle these things. Not your local municipal fire department. They definitely can help but they are not the primary agency that handles wildfires. That is handled by specialist crews who are trained to handle it. I swear that it's a miracle you don't suffocate by forgetting to breathe.
