  1. James Conway Mizzou upsets #11 Chittum 9-3
  2. Kerk was honored last year vs Edinboro, along with Cstar. Not sure why Carter did again tonight without Greg.
  3. When someone says “ I am/was a state champ, National Champ or Olympic Champ”, there is no S on the end. State is the correct term.
  4. The probables. Could change as we know but no Ferrari is interesting.
  5. I’m good for whatever date, time the masses are good for.
  6. @VakAttack @lu_alum Will we be doing it again this year? I know it’s premature but figured with only a couple weeks until the big dance I’d bring it up so that if it’s happening, we can get it rolling sooner than later.
  7. It ended with Alan Hart losing in the blood round his Sr year.
  8. He did in High School yes, at Hartland Arrow Head. He coached Mitchell and Keegan as well at the same school.
  9. Antonio Mills along with his brother are Mizzou commits after flipping from NC State.
  10. Bo said he will be in FRL tomorrow, but will be back on again Tuesday to announce where he will be going.
  11. With him going today at 184 does this mean the shirt is off? Also since he went 184 and not 197, I know Hawks is hurt, is his injury more severe than initially what was expected? What doesn’t make sense is why not wrestle Sinclair vs Oklahoma where we had a chance to maybe win the dual instead of versus Plott today?
  12. Missed it today, results anyone?
  13. I waited all week like everyone else for this, now Hulu wants to F up. I’m pissed.
  14. That lineup is dangerous. However Hawks and Sinclair would probably flip flop weights. I could also see Elam at HWY with Hawks, Sinclair at 184 and 97. Wouldn’t be surprised if Walker took a RS and Mauger slids in at 125. With Antonio Mills coming the lighter weights have flexibility for RS or ORS.
  15. Do all those DQ’s belong to the opposition, or does that include his own DQ’s? He’s is a bit of a high flyer, but I don’t think I’ve seen any match or moves that would purposely hurt or injury another person.
  16. Walker is going to be good IMO, close loses to both Richie and Lilledahl. Steed was up big before the injury default. Was close to a pin early. Hopefully he can remain healthy the rest of the way.
  17. Rumor was Mizzou was after him and Hendrickson over the summer. Obviously neither happened, so maybe he’s an option for them next year. We have a top recruit coming in, but a RS wouldn’t be a bad thing.
  18. I see it as good and bad. Monetary it’s great for the athletes. However the downside is what’s happening. One team buys up all the “free agents” like the Yankees. To stay competitive is the key, but the downside is the inability to mold, train and develop your own recruits.
  19. Just makes sense. TnT needs it to workout. The only way they can try and keep up is in the portal.
  20. Just my opinion. Whether it happens or not, who knows. But I definitely can see it.
  21. I think they separated so they could try and stay out of trouble, prove that they can and before we know it, will all be back at Iowa. Kind of a prove to the brass type of deal.
  22. I don’t think for a second it’s Maple in any fashion. I’d be willing to bet money that if you polled the wrestlers in the room, they will all agree Maple is a huge part of whatever success the have, KOT specifically continues to mention him in interviews about what he’s done for him. I do know for a fact the reason we have gotten a couple of these higher rated recruits is Maple specifically. He’s turned into a great recruiter in his tenure. He may have input, but he doesn’t run the program, that’s what Smith does and he’s done a great job thus far. If I had one bad thing to say about Smith and it’s not even bad, is he’s loyal to his style and his guys. But that’s what makes him successful. We’ve obviously changed the schedule, judgement is still out on if it’s working or not, but to me it’s not. Long breaks between matches/tournaments isn’t keeping us sharp, we are flat and out of shape, Stanford match was the worst I’ve seen us in a long time. We don’t do the big tournaments over Xmas or any that I recall the last 2-3 years. Luckily our dual meet schedule has been pretty tough. As far as the recent injury bug, that’s the million dollar question. Why and how is it happening. I understand they are apart of sports, but this many in one place is crazy. Is it a wrestling room problem, strength and conditioning problem, personal injuries doing work outside on their own? Can’t perform in March if we are hurt before the whistles are blown to start the match. Can we bring Waters back? We need a light weight coach that is still competing to help Maple drill and work with these guys.
  23. I wish I knew. It’s frustrating. I will say that without injuries we win this dual vs Stanford. 174 we got teched, add in kot we win, 3 point minimum. Thats 8 point swing. Rocky/Sinclair win 197. We are losing close matches all year. They came out flat and outta gas. We were already questionable at some weights even with a full healthy lineup. They are just being highlighted now that the big names are out. Cant cover them up anymore. I won’t discredit any of the guys, but we are running a lineup out that consists of room or backup guys. Losing Harmon, Whitling hurts us now, depth is depleted.
