According to their dad, he posted in the Facebook group the wrestling room that they originally committed to NC State because they were excited and it was the first offer so they gave the verbal without exploring all options. He stated they chose Mizzou because the program felt like a family and their relationship with incoming top recruit Dom Bambinelli who they have trained with for several years at Roundtree Wrestling Academy. He also said Antonio is excited to get in the room asap and train with Seth Mendoza.

Teequavious Mills will be there also, brother to Antonio and Ariah. Will be a SR as well. If Mizzou can somehow land Ariah, I would be thrilled. Still a long ways to go for that, but I can dream. I’m sure every big name college are already licking their chops at a chance to land him. I don’t have Rokfin but I believe Willie has Ariah as the #1 incoming freshman overall.

Quite the team Shannon was apart of in High School. CBC in St. Louis coached by Cornell Robinson, previously of Wyoming Sem. Shannon, Vinny Zerban, Malik Johnson and Cevion Severado. Wyatt Henson also the years he wasn’t in PA. Johnson was a Greco World Champ and 4x state champ. Top recruit in his weight I believe. Him and Severado wrestled for a year or so at Mizzou. Severado was also good at Greco. Vinny went back to Illinois his hometown for his Sr year and the other three had graduated. To think for all the success the four of them had in high school, that only Vinny would AA and that Johnson and Severado would leave Mizzou ending up at Lindenwood and Grain Valley for Severado and a community college for Johnson.

Lock Haven announced today he’s been added to the staff. Short time he spent at Northern Colorado.

I saw that, specifically mentioned Maple. Maple has done a dang good job of recruiting and coaching. Glad to have him around. Hopefully it’s for a long time. Most importantly the recruits seem to really like him. Bachmann, does he project as a 125/133? Couple years still before he hits any campus. 141/149 to me wouldn’t surprise me. He mentioned Iowa also, so we’ll see.

This is an interesting match. Sinclair is probably a huge dog, but he’s a goer.

I’ve been busy and just now seeing these lists of top schools for both Anderson and Borge. Mizzou would love to have both of you. Dean spent some time with and took pictures with Keegan O’Toole and Aeoden Sinclair while at Fargo. Hopefully that’s a good sign for all of us Tiger fans.

I would say so, but Mizzou did have two incoming recruits win Jr Free championships in Mills and Gleason. Was hoping to see Mendoza, Rath and Bambinelli but no such luck.

He’s a Mizzou recruit, after flipping from VTech. Between mills, Mendoza, Walker and Mauger I love the depth of our 125-141.

I just watched coach Smith on FRL today. Obviously Hawks was wearing the big brace but I was unaware he too suffered an ACL tear. Probably was obvious, but still. I understand recovery is different from sport to sport, what’s the time frame for a wrestler? @Mhlm did he have surgery, if you don’t mind me asking?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rath and Stillwell both RS, leaving a mix of Stoner and Jacobi Jackson to handle 285. I looked over the roster today, Mizzou sits at 31. If they are to be at 30, someone else will not make the cut. The black and gold could give us a better preview of what the team could/should look like.

That was a thought I’d had, but Hawks is coming off a knee injury, to what extent I have no clue, but that big brace at the tail end of the season along with limited mobility didn’t look great. I’m not sure he could put on the necessary weight to be effective at 285. I’m intrigued on how it will play out.

Flo seems to agree with you. I know rankings don’t mean anything especially right now. But I found it interesting that Bates is ranked and Hawks isn’t.

Where does Evan Bates fit now that he has signed? One year of eligibility left for him and Hawks, who gets the nod? I also think we see Rath RS and take over 157 the following year. Idk if he can make and maintain 149.

That’s another possibility. I think maybe some familiarity and a reset would do Gabe well wherever that is.

Idk @Fudge Tunnel, we have a couple guys coming in at that weight range. Plus we have 30, maybe 31 on the roster where would he fit and who does he replace? Don’t get me wrong, he’d be more than welcomed in CoMo, but having 3 years left plus incoming recruits, I wouldn’t think Smith goes that route. Maybe he goes and spends a year with J’Den.

My biggest question in all this, is did Bo and family expect for all in involved to live in the Hawkeye family room until they all hit the ground and after? Meaning come train whenever for however long? 1 yrs worth for Bo, 2 for Melvin and 3 for Keegan? It’s not making sense. Outside of Spenser and Desanto who else is making moves on the seniors circuit? Caliendo wrestled recently but not often. Eierman left Mizzou saying the move can help his aspirations to win Olympic medals and he’s not been doing anything of note for how long? Yes could they make the bassetts better, most likely, but I would guess there are clubs, high schools or other rooms in the PA area that probably have high level training partners closer to home. It’s just not making sense. The Iowa room is good, but it’s not top tier compared to others. It would make more sense if he went to Colorado Springs for the year, EAP program or whatever it’s called.

2 state titles and 3 Fargo AAs, I doubt Askren would’ve broke the top 75-100. Without knowing what we do now, I don’t think he would’ve even made the board.

As cool as it is to Mizzou make his top 9 list, I would be super surprised if he picked us.
