  1. You and your son from Mo or national tournaments?
  2. You think that’s what it is, NIL money? I had that in mind, but not sure that’s the main reason. Then again I have no clue and it could be 100% the reason. Just would like to see more transfers at least consider Mizzou.
  3. General question, but why doesn’t some of these portal guys transfer to Mizzou? I get Smith wants “Tiger style” guys, and maybe the interest isn’t there for some. But it seems to me at least Mizzou isn’t even an option. Maybe Smith is loyal to his recruits and that’s awesome. We’ve had some transfers, Mikey England and Blaise Butler mixed with some homegrown kids that went elsewhere first and came home. For example a wrestler like Franek would be a great addition at 157 where we don’t have a proven wrestler at this point. Just curious why more wouldn’t or haven’t chose to join a top 10 team more often.
  4. Would love for Zan to come home to Mizzou
  5. I remember that as well. I’m young-ish, I’m 40. FHC wrestler and grad in 2001. Not born and raised, but we moved to Mo from Georgia when I was in second grade. The GAC produced some of the best wrestler to ever come from MO.
  6. Lindenwood, i grew up 15 min from there. Ive seen lots of great matches over there. Honestly can’t wait to see how they do once they are fully D1. Still not sure which conference they will join. I would imagine the next couple recruiting classes will give us a hint as to how they room will look.
  7. Makes sense. It was based on Hamati being a two time AA at a much tougher weight.
  8. For convo sakes let’s play it out. KOT points are a wash. He’s the favorite at 165, but there are land mines. He would be a huge favorite at 157. Mocco would be lucky to AA at 165 and I like him a lot, but Carr, Messenbrink, Sugar Shane, Amine, Karchula, Hamati all above Mocco. Harmon could low AA as 174, which is exactly what Mocco has done. Seems to be a wash either way we look at it. Not gaining but sure could lose some if there isn’t a Mizzou AA at 165. We had 4 AA’s last year, not great but improvement can be made. Edmonds, Seltzer, Surtin and whoever man’s 184 could score more points next year vs this year. At 133 all that takes is one win. So if the 4 AAs hold serve +or- a couple points, realistically we could add enough to trophy hunt without much bonus.
  9. Gilman vito Yanni zain dake JB taylor zahid cox gable dont know enough about WFS and Greco to make accurate picks. I would say Helen, Forrest, Elor and Blades
  10. I agree, we need the best lineup possible. Shoot for all I know, it could happen. Simply saying I wouldn’t bet on it. I could see it if Mocco was way under weight at nationals, but with two full years at 174, being fully a 174, it’s bleak.
  11. No way Mocco pulls a Matt Pell, dropping two weights. Cam Steed, J Conaway or Fisher are the most likely to man 157. 2024 Harmon and Whitting I would think make the lineup. The following year with Rocky having exhausted his time, Sinclair, Mauger will slide in.
  12. Former NJCAA All American at 125 to join Mizzou! Never can have to many 125’s
  13. I couldn’t say as I have 0 inside info
  14. I’m with you, never did I think Jacques would beat Keegan, but Keegan himself has said several times that Jacques indeed beat him for the 157 his first year in the wrestle off, thus the move. Maybe that was the plan all along, but I’ll have to take him at his word he indeed lost. I’m not a top of the line donator either, so we are in the same boat. I do hope you win that lottery soon, loved to see us battling it out with PSU.
  15. Mocco is KOT best friend, and they’ve wrestled together since he was young according to Keegan. He’s already forced Mocco to move up once. He initially wrestled off and lost to Jacques at a freshman at 157. Mocco was at 165 the year prior. After losing he went 165 and Mocco moved up to 174. Doubtful Mocco can make 165 now, and Keegan most likely don’t want to push Mocco out of the lineup his last year. I do think we see KOT move up to 174, but next year at the earliest.
  16. Seltzer I’m most interested in honestly. It’s been awhile, Erneste or McCormick since we’ve had a legit 133. Who do you think takes over 157, Steed? The battle at 184 is the most intriguing to me. As far as OLY RS, I’m not sure if anyone takes one. Who is eligible, KOT,Rocky and Hawks? Not 100% on hawks he was on that U20 team where KOT and Rocky win golds. The recruiting class for this year, i feel is mostly room guys. But the 24 class with Sinclair and Mauger, will probably RS, but I could also see them slide right into starting spots.
  17. Mizzou 125 Surtin NQ, R12, NQ anything less than a podium spot would be disappointing at this point in his career. 133 Zeke Seltzer top 10 recruit, looking forward to seeing what he can do 141 Josh Edmond NQ at 149 coming off a RS year. Back to his natural weight after filling in for Mauller during his RS. Low podium wouldn’t surprise me here 149 Mauller 3x AA has had a great career. Hopes he makes the jump to a top 3 finish to finish off his last year. 157 is the one weight we have with 0 experience after four years of Jacques. J Conway, Cam Steed will most likely fill this spot. 165 KOT! 174 Mocco with one more year to try and finish above his 8 place AA finish last year. 184, the weight we have the most depth in my eyes. Hawks, Harman and Whittling. All three could start elsewhere I’d imagine. Who ends up manning the spot is a huge ? Mark. Hawks has improved, but if it was me, it would be Whittlings spot. The black and gold should give us an answer. 197 R Elam HWY Z Elam with the right draws, pending everyone staying healthy I see no reason we don’t finish top 5. This is a trophy contender on paper. I believe we return the second most points overall. My opinion this is a trophy or bust year for Mizzou.
  18. Welcome to Mizzou Jake Stoffel! Will be a SR next year, but it’s another Wisconsin, AWA wrestler in Columbia.
  19. Last years class, no offense to any of the wrestlers, seems more of a room guys class. Maybe McCalister breaks the lineup at some point, maybe not. Your observation seems correct. Depth class followed by target recruits that most likely hit the lineup with a year or two. Covid sure did make things complicated for everyone.
  20. Enlighten me on who that could be.
  21. They have to break the scoring record now I would imagine.
  22. If Mizzou somehow got both Wyatt and Wolbert, I would be over the moon. To me those two look like the next can’t miss guys from AWA. Obviously I’m excited to see where Aeoden and Whitting fit in the lineup. I need to research bast like I had to after Fudge talked about Wolbert. I was unaware Messingbrinks dad was from MO. The 2024 class, I would think would be a smaller one. Only Mack and Aeoden I believe.
  23. Can’t blame Jonathan, he did all he could from day 1. Once it closed the first time, after that long break before it came back it just wasn’t the same.
  24. I wouldn’t be disappointed at all. Go Mizzou and KOT.
  25. Nicholas Hauke was another. After looking at some of the rosters, Illinois would be the second highest rostered state after in state recruits. I know we’ve brought in guys like Cross and McCalister but if I’m Smith and Wyatt Duchateau isn’t committed, I’d be looking at him. Same high school as most of the AWA guys at Arrowhead.
