I think McCarthy's tenure as speaker will be very short. Giving the Chaos Caucus the Motion to Vacate the Speaker implies they'll threaten him with it at every opportunity, either explicitly or implicitly. This would be like giving that psycho dad control over your dual lineup or season tournament schedule.

Are they going to tell senior citizens that they're cutting Social Security and Medicare (sounds like political suicide for the GOP given the demographics)? Are they going to stop making payments on the national debt? Are they going to raise vast new taxes? This just violates math.

With the new rules package, only one representative is needed to offer a Motion to Vacate the Speaker. Kevin's got a gun to his head from the get go. I do not envy him.
