  1. Another reason this OOB stalling rule sucks is that the refs wait to call stalling now until they go out. In prior years, if some one is backing up and the other guy is shooting, they would throw up the stall as soon as the guy shoots (as they should). Now they wait and if they don’t go out, they avoid a stall call. Fix (and many others) dodged some stall calls that way
  2. Wow! This is crazy! Right call for no takedown both times, but it sure is making it look like Fix is the villain
  3. Need a point of emphasis on whether or not this is a takedown. It should be universally known as its a super common position. All these challenges are killing us
  4. JB knows how blood can kill momentum… bringing up bad memories from 2016
  5. That’s got to be what the challenge is. Obviously a takedown, but he is clearly grabbing the shoe… if that’s a headgear or singlet, they would call a penalty point.
  6. He’s not even top two on his own team lol
  7. Ayala Vito Mendez Gomez Haines Carr Starocci Keckeisen Brooks Kerkvliet
  8. I’m sure that’s frustrating as a coach, but his ‘reckless abandon’ style is what got him this far. You gotta take the bad with the good and I’d rather have a kid like andonian
  9. As a true freshmen in a time where 6-7 year seniors are common. Pretty impressive
  10. Lots of a crazy stuff happens at NCAAs but I actually doubt that that has ever happened before
  11. We just had 3 NCAA champions wrestling on 3 different mats at the same time… in the CONSOLATIONS!
  12. Which is worse the Molinaro “I choose bottom” or the Lovett “I choose top”?
  13. You must have me confused with someone else lol. I’m not a Penn State fan. I’ve been critical of them many times and yes, I was critical of it when RBY did it to Desanto. I’m just an unbiased wrestling fan so I will call it out whether I like the team of the injured guy or not
  14. Are you in favor of allowing all MMA submission holds? There’s a huge difference between moves that cause pain and moves that cause injury. Arm bars, power halves, etc. are painful as are all good pinning combinations. I’m all for that. Most people don’t know the technique on the move Plott did but it is a move that is not really painful… just takes your knee to a position where it all of a sudden pops. I’d have to do a breakdown on the technique (which I’m not taking the time right now) but if you see it, I bet you’d agree it’s quite dangerous.
  15. It’s already technically illegal because you can take a joint in an unnatural direction. It’s no different than a kimura or any other submission. You just can’t see the damage til it’s too late. I don’t want to keep seeing people with knees blow out. We have enough already
  16. That definitely need to be illegal what Plott did to Truax. Turning the toe out like that is very dangerous. It hard to see but it needs to be a point of emphasis
  17. Robb looks like he’s getting back to his old self. Haines is the definite favorite, but I love a good comeback story so I’m hoping for a great match
  18. Yup if I had to pick just one to top the list, this is definitely it!
  19. Exactly why I have this one on the list. I definitely agree with others that Mendez is the favorite but Hardy has the potential to make it an exciting match.
  20. Obviously, Starocci v Lewis has the most star power, but I’m guessing it’s going to be mainly a defensive battle. A few I think will be great matches are Hamiti v Carr, Haines v Robb, Andonian v Scott, Arrington v Gomez, Mendez v Hardy, and Noto v Ramos.
  21. Are semifinals on ESPN+ too? I was thinking you needed a subscription with regular espn to watch that round and finals
  22. Check on Verizon. I get Hulu, Disney+, and espn+ bundle included in my phone plan. It definitely saves you from buying it separately
  23. I thought it was Sta-rah-chee
  24. Look who I’m quoting… it was my weak attempt at humor
  25. This might just be enough for Iowa to overtake Penn State
