  1. Where did you get that? NYPost? FOX? Breitbart? OAN? Oh, I see, it was C-SPAN. Right up there with the loonies C-SPAN is. Can't trust them. mspart
  2. Are you saying that stuff is still in the Vatican? mspart
  3. I'd say change it. mspart
  4. Wrong media sources. Highly partisan. mspart
  5. I doubt it will happen. But there are many there that want it to happen. The question is does Idaho want this? Eastern Oregon is highly unpopulated. Mostly a real wasteland. mspart
  6. Given my post above, if they decide gravitational theory is just a theory, if number theory is just a theory, this will get derailed very quickly. Even for parts of evolution and relativity, it would get derailed very quickly. I don't think it would be a problem for anatomy or biology as far as what we know concretely and what is taught now in public schools. Evolutionary theory is fine as far as changes within a specie, but there is not much evidence and a lot of speculation of a specie evolving into a completely different specie. The term I'm using might be incorrect and perhaps genus might be better. The issue of the missing link is still very much a thing. So if they wanted to teach that a strep bacteria can mutate such that it is resistant to antibiotics, that is demonstrable. But showing that a single cell animal evolves into a human with different processes and organs has no corollary. It is speculation at this point. This is sure to elicit various arguments on either side here but I think it is indisputable that the evidence for the macro evolution of this kind is lacking evidence. As of now, it is speculation. mspart
  7. Here is the bill: I would say this is not aimed at theory of gravity. Squarely on theory of evolution and perhaps Relativity. But now the arguments here can be based on the language of the bill rather than speculation. mspart
  8. Not critical race thinking, but critical thinking. There is a difference. One is not like the other. The latter is in great need. mspart
  9. Pretty much. If you can figure out how to make a product expire just after the warranty wears out, you win. mspart
  10. Yes, this is a real thing. It won't happen. Many years ago, rural areas of King County WA (where Seattle is) wanted to secede and create Cedar County. It ultimately is up to the Legislature and they were unwilling to listen. I would guess this would have to be ratified by Congress somehow. You think that will happen? mspart
  11. You might be right. But the impact will disrupt and destroy the stuff in the boxes. Unless the Chinese built it to withstand a nuclear blast. My guess is they didn't. mspart
  12. You do realize that falling from 60k feet into water or the ground ends up roughly the same right? Falling that fast, water is as hard as the ground and will destroy everything in the same way. This is why bridge jumpers committing suicide are successful. Their whole internal organs fail when impact is made. mspart
  13. Saying that, I can see how sycophants would think this was brilliant. But getting the Rs to say on record during the SOTU speech while misrepresenting what they have already said on record is not some brilliant move. R's don't want to change SS and Medicare. They have been down that road and it wasn't pleasant. mspart
  14. What trap? No one in this Congress other than Rick Scott, has supported changing SS or Medicare. So when Biden said there were some in Congress (there is one perhaps in Congress - Rick Scott) they let him know he was wrong. He lied to the American people directly with this. And this is applause worthy? The Rs were already on record saying they don't want changes to SS or Medicare. So how is there a trap? mspart
  15. So absence of proof is not enough for you. Did any prosecution happen as a result of collusion? The prosecutions that did happen were for other things. None happened for collusion because there was no proof that it happened. If it had happened, they would have found proof. This is like someone saying I robbed a person. I say I never robbed a person. An investigation is begun and finds there is no evidence I robbed a person. Yet you still are convinced I robbed a person because they didn't say I didn't rob a person. Ridiculous. You have misread the Mueller report this same way. You are looking for any excuse to find collusion. When the official report says there is no evidence of collusion, that means they found no evidence of collusion. It does not mean "it probably happened but we just can't find it". It means there is no evidence to support the allegation. That was the purpose for the investigation - to find evidence of wrongdoing. They found no evidence of wrongdoing. That is why there has not been any follow up investigations or prosecutions for actual russian collusion on the part of any US person. mspart
  16. https://www.americanbar.org/news/abanews/aba-news-archives/2019/03/mueller-concludes-investigation/ https://www.npr.org/2019/03/24/706385781/mueller-report-finds-evidence-of-russian-collusion https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/24/breaking-news-barr-to-release-summary-of-mueller-report-1233771 “The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,” the special counsel wrote in his findings, which Attorney General William Barr released on Sunday in four-page summary form. Now from the Mueller report itself: Starting in June 2016, the IRA contacted different U.S. persons affiliated with the Trump Campaign in an effort to coordinate pro-Trump IRA-organized rallies inside the United States. In all cases, the IRA contacted the Campaign while claiming to be U.S. political activists working on behalf of a conservative grassroots organization. The IRA’s contacts included requests for signs and other materials to use at rallies,107 as well as requests to promote the rallies and help coordinate logistics.108 While certain campaign volunteers agreed to provide the requested support (for example, agreeing to set aside a number of signs), the investigation has not identified evidence that any Trump Campaign official understood the requests were coming from foreign nationals. Although members of the IRA had contact with individuals affiliated with the Trump Campaign, the indictment does not charge any Trump Campaign official or any other U.S. person with participating in the conspiracy. That is because the investigation did not identify evidence that any U.S. person who coordinated or communicated with the IRA knew that he or she was speaking with Russian nationals engaged in the criminal conspiracy. I would think that the plain language would be sufficient for you but I am guessing that is a naive thought. mspart
  17. Perhaps basic math and science skills would help with understanding the accounting and economics? Just saying. mspart
  18. Probably not wrong! Especially since I mistakenly thought he won Zagreb (ranking series) rather than Henri Deglane (not ranking series). mspart
  19. Which is why the question persists - Why did they allow it to fly all the way across the USA? China maybe got what they wanted by that inaction. It should have been brought down much sooner in my opinion, like when it was found over Alaska. mspart
  20. Well, apparently that is correct. Trump got one while in office and it was not deserved. Do you agree with that? Mueller said there was no collusion. The whole Mueller thing was a waste of time. We now know that all of that info from the Steele dossier was fictional and yet it was used to get warrants from FISA to spy on Trump's folks. And it was known to be untruthful, yet presented as wonderful evidence to FISA court. Do you agree with this? You should because FBI has admitted as much. https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/442944-fbis-steele-story-falls-apart-false-intel-and-media-contacts-were-flagged/ mspart
  21. I prefer a system that is more responsive to the timing of an issue that comes up. A single payer system will not do that because that is how they keep costs (and therefore taxes) down. Single Payer system has as its incentive to drive costs down, meaning procedures are down, doctor visits are down, specialist visits are down. Does that sound like a properly run system to you? Not to me. Is that serving the person that is not healthy? No. Now I admit that folks in the USA eat terribly, treat their bodies horribly, and pay the price in longevity. But in general, when we need to see a doctor, we can without much delay. Of course if you have insurance or are rich. Those with no insurance wait for sure. But with Obamacare, that is all fixed right? mspart
  22. I'd say points 2-4 are completely valid. Point 1, I'm not sure about. In between wellness visits you could get covid, or flu, or pneumonia, etc. You might need hospitalization and/or perhaps a grave site. I would agree with Point 1 to a point. But it is very hard to predict the future. And it is expensive enough to go to the Doctor that most people will wait until quite sick. mspart
  23. Hello there Plasi, Single payer systems are not that great. Canada for instance. https://www.fraserinstitute.org/studies/waiting-your-turn-wait-times-for-health-care-in-canada-2022 From referral by a general practitioner to consultation with a specialist. The waiting time in this segment increased from 11.1 weeks in 2021 to 12.6 weeks in 2022. This wait time is 242% longer than in 1993, when it was 3.7 weeks. The shortest waits for specialist consultations are in Ontario (10.1 weeks) while the longest occur in Prince Edward Island (41.7 weeks). From the consultation with a specialist to the point at which the patient receives treatment. The waiting time in this segment increased from 14.5 weeks in 2021 to 14.8 weeks this year. This wait time is 164% longer than in 1993 when it was 5.6 weeks, and 6.7 weeks longer than what physicians consider to be clinically “reasonable” (8.1 weeks). The shortest specialist-to-treatment waits are found in Ontario (10.2 weeks), while the longest are in Manitoba (25.4 weeks). Your point about it being cheaper is because they have made it impossible to get anything done in a timely manner. You either expire, you go to USA, or you just forget about it, or you wait a long time. None of which is a selling point if you are the person with those options. mspart
