  1. I'm thinking Jordan needs to stop. When McCarthy did this, he had just a few holdouts and he was the hands on heir apparent. Jordan isn't. There is no heir apparent. It is a unique time in House history that the majority doesn't have a clear leader. mspart
  2. They took Hamas health agency at their word. They didn't critically think about it at all. Well Hamas said it so it must be so. Biden missed a meeting with Jordan, PLO, and others because of the lie. mspart
  3. It is mandatory in WA state. They start in K-5. When the debate was going on in the legislature, they had to stop televising (service is like a C-span but for the state) the proceedings because the content was too graphic as they were going through what would be taught. mspart
  4. Rasta, I appreciate your question. I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I meant to convey that it is the Progressives that have the re-education camp. If that didn't come across correctly I apologize. I was just giving examples of behavior on the progressive side that the folks on the far right would be fighting against. I don't think generally that patriotism, core ethical values, and religion are what is wrong with America or could be wrong with America. Generally speaking, I see progressives as being against these things. So I hit on them for this, because I think these things are some of the primary reasons why America is great. mspart
  5. I don't disagree with this. But there is no similar differentiation that I know of between conservative and ???. But there certainly is a contingent that is opposed to the progressives' agenda. But in my opinion, everyone should be against the progressives' agenda. It progresses nothing. It takes us back to earlier times of discrimination and reduction of rights and takes us into fantasyland saying that men can menstruate and have babies, and women can impregnate each other. Menstruating people, lactating people, pregnant people. These are things that women do. Men pretending to be women do not do these things. Why are we rearranging our language for a lunatic fringe? But this is part and parcel of the progressive agenda. If you don't believe in these things, they have suggested re-education camps for you. mspart

  7. My statement was general in nature, not aimed at you specifically. BobDole, the dead senator who somehow is able to post here, is especially fond of giving me grief for this. mspart
  8. I was harrangued for providing links to backup my claims. Now that is exactly what is being asked. This board is certainly consistent in its inconsistency. mspart
  9. https://www.psypost.org/2022/08/new-study-helps-pinpoint-the-key-differences-between-liberals-and-progressives-in-the-united-states-63768 Is a progressive in the United States just a more extreme version of a liberal? New research suggests that is not the case. Self-described progressives and self-described liberals have significantly different views on a number of issues related to free speech, equality, diversity, and identity, according to a series of studies published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. ... “Relative to traditional liberals within the U.S. left-wing, it appears that progressives are more likely to 1) advocate for ‘Mandated Diversity’ within institutional settings, 2) show ‘Cultural Appropriation Concerns’ regarding creative expression, 3) apply ‘Public Censure’ of divergent views, and 4) are less likely to pursue a ‘Recourse to Existing Institutions’ to bring about political change,” Proulx told PsyPost. Here is another similar description of Progressive and Liberal. This makes me wonder if the D caucus in the Congress is actually more progressive than liberal. Somehow the progressives have seemed to gain the ability to run the train. The liberals are along for the ride. That's generally what I see. mspart
  10. That was targeted especially for you Plasi. mspart
  11. Well, the numbers are getting bigger. That probably a good thing for a fair amount of posters on this board. I honestly don't care if it is Jordan or anyone else on the R side. Just saying. mspart
  12. I think this is mostly true. Anyone else have an opinion. mspart
  13. Jordan is now backing McHenry as permanent temporary speaker. mspart

  15. Oh that was a great and disastrous picture. mspart
  16. That's pretty good. My Ordinary Differential Equations teacher would write an equation on the board, step back, point his hands at the board and wiggle his fingers. And then he would produce the solution. Someone asked him how he know's the solution, and his answer was, "That is beyond the scope of this class." To which we all laughed. We need to memorize how it is done and not understand it. Which is what my Dad said he had to do when he took the class. mspart
  17. Regardless, the saying is true. mspart
  18. Does not look fun. Like climbing Everest - no thank you. mspart

  20. If they legislated and governed appropriately, you are correct. mspart
  21. This is the way I see it. Ds - They want to spend big so they can get reelected to spend more. Rs - They want the debt to be reduced but when they look around, they see that they have to spend more to get reelected. It is really the electorate that has been driving the free lunch thing and the elected officials oblige. When they don't, they get voted out. mspart
