To us the spectator it is a product. To the wrestler it is about end of season performance. Coaches and wrestlers are not the least bit concerned what we want. Load management is the new norm especially at PSU.

There once was a time when the first TD was worth 2 and each subsequent was only worth one. The intent was to stop the TD and release game. Now the incentive for cut and release jumped.

The three point TD devalues the escape, reversals, and the stall call and inflates the TD. This will absolutely change match outcomes and mat strategy.

The 3 pt TD artificially inflates the value of a TD and deflates the value of escapes and reversals. I don't like it, but no one cares whether I like it or not. It will affect the tempo and outcomes of matches as rule changes always do. It is up to the wrestlers and coaches to work around it. From a spectator standpoint I will watch fewer college matches. Again, no one cares whether I watch it or not that is just the nature of sport.
