fishbane Posted February 27 Posted February 27 On FRL earlier this week Kozak made an analogy involving David Talyor, Jax Forrest, Marcus Blaze, Cael Sanderson, David Taylor, and Kyle Dake. He went on to explaine how when Sanderson first started as PSU he immediately got top recruit (Taylor) that was all gas no brakes who came in to be the face of the program. He then went on to describe how that wrestler suffered a setback to a more defensive wrestler that matched up well with him namely Kyle Dake. In this analogy he was saying that Jax Forrest is now David Taylor's David Taylor and that Marcus Blaze will be Jax Forrest's Kyle Dake. He didn't finish the analogy. On those early PSU teams Sanderson had an almost equally talented wrestler the same year as Taylor that was a weight class or two heavier that liked cradles - Ed Ruth. David Taylor has one of those in Stillwater - Sergio Vega. Sanderson recruited a set of very talented win brothers a year after Ruth and Taylor, the Altons. David Taylor has a set of very talented twin brothers committed in the class of 2026 - the Raney twins. Finally the biggest oversight in Kozak's whole analogy was that it wasn't Kyle Dake who gave David Taylor his first setback as a wrestler at Penn State. It was a former teammate and NCAA finalist that fell out of favor and transferred to ASU. There was a 133 with ASU ties in Stillwater that Forrest replaced. What are the odds that Ritchie Figs resurfaces at ASU and takes Forrest out? Stylistically different 2- Richie Figs story is not similar to the Bubba story. 3- The Raney/Alton twin connection, Blaze/Dake, Taylor/Forrest are fun comparisons for the time being. He is a 133 that ran into some off season alcohol trouble at his first institution like Long. It also looks like there might not room for him in the PSU lineup next year so maybe he transfers.
