The key point is you have to pay in order to travel, you can always travel privately and skip TSA and other regulators. I have no problem with requiring these documents to vote, it’s the fact that they cost significant money and time that WILL affect everyday Americans. I would have no problem with this bill if government provides passports and other documents that prove citizenship at no cost to the citizen.

Define significant money

It’s not that hard to do any of the things being asked to be able to vote.   It’s the same things being asked of someone to fly on a plane, travel abroad and to receive their social security checks.  If you don’t like it tough.

Yes, so you agree. Someone, many people actually, might be required to do ANYTHING(doesn't matter how easy or difficult you think it is, btw its subjective) to get a new ID to vote. This makes it a poll tax. Those are illegal. Any argument that you make about ANYONE needing to do extra just to be allowed to vote, beyond a certain threshold IS. A. POLL. TAX.

Until you can figure out how to get around that. That's the only thing that matters.

A passport is $165. For example to get your birth certificate in OC, CA it costs $32. It’s $19 for marriage certificate. Under the save act, a marriage license showing your new name and birth certificate is not enough so you WILL need to get a passport. So if a woman gets married, she’s gonna need to spend at least $216 and prepare months in advance with waiting times in order to vote

And I’m sure many will Be able to Figure out how to vote, it’s the fact that it’s gonna cost over $200 to be able to register that’s gonna stop a lot of people

I did not expect a conservative to be in favor of having to spend hundreds of extra dollars to have the same right you had for free before.

The percent of adult Americans lacking an ID is a cheap price for election integrity.  Voter suppression is another rounding error.  This is the dumbest of dumb debates.  If you want to vote, you are going to vote…  for the three that want to but don’t… tough.

…Musk should offer to pay for the IDs of those living where it is not already free…

musk offered to pay TSA workers. They still haven’t been paid. Years ago musk offered to end world hunger if the UN sent him a plan. They did. World hunger still here. Not sure what he would do

Witness, the contempt of the underprivileged by a member of the privileged.
For no other reason than simply existing and trying to vote as they always have.

This is a shameful piece of shit. Not realizing they are a shameful piece of shit. Because they no longer have a sense of shame. Because their privilege allows them to not be held accountable for their shitty ideas and opinions.

That’s just false. You only need a real id which isn’t a valid form of id for voter registration. Save act married woman with differing last names will NEED a passport to register to vote. To change your real id you only need new social and marriage certificate ans that doesn’t comply with the SAVE act as a form of ID

This has always been a solution in search of a problem.

How are you using the phrase 'voter suppression'? What numbers are you working with?

If you want to vote - I'm sorry but this is quite the privileged statement. Especially coming from someone that supports the side that wants to curtail early and mail in voting with no valid reason to do so. Making it harder and harder for people to show up in person to vote. That IS actively suppressing options for people to vote and you're ok with that. No legitimate reasons have been offered as to why early and mail in voting should be eliminated. Prove me wrong?

Tell me how should someone go vote in person if they work a job that does not afford them time off to vote?
