Keep CBU Wrestling

On January 2, 2026, California Baptist University announced the difficult decision to discontinue three men’s programs at the conclusion of this season: men’s wrestling, men’s golf, and men’s swim & dive. For wrestling, this decision eliminates a Division I opportunity in Southern California that has served student-athletes, families, and the broader California wrestling community with excellence in competition, academics, leadership, and service.

In response, alumni, parents, and supporters have come together to form Keep CBU Wrestling, an initiative focused on working collaboratively to reinstate the program and establish a sustainable model that protects wrestling opportunities for current and future athletes. Our goal is not only reinstatement, but long-term stability so this program can continue impacting lives through the sport.

If you’d like to support this effort, you can visit www.keepcbuwrestling.com:

• Sign up for email updates to stay up to date with our progress
• Purchase a Keep CBU Wrestling shirt to help raise awareness and show visible support for the program.
• Consider making a conditional pledge toward reinstatement. All pledges are aligned with our reinstatement goal and are intended to support the long-term sustainability of CBU Wrestling.

Whether through sharing our story on your social media, wearing our t-shirt, or pledging funds, we’re grateful for the California wrestling community and its long tradition of showing up when the sport is challenged.

Thank you for your time and support.

"the school’s overall enrollment is around 38% men compared with 62% women"

What guy wouldn't want to enroll there wrestling or no?

This is the way. They think cutting wrestling makes things easier for them and solves a problem. It has to be 10x the opposite.

Baptists? Do you know why they don't have sex while standing?

They think God will see & think they are dancing.
