An explosive blast double is all he had in Folk. And freestyle honesty. He did it at such a high level in both, that he was able to win significantly more than lose.

Both he and Dake won a whole lot on superior athleticism. Burroughs benefited his offense and Dake his defense.

No coach can teach how to have positional athleticism. None. You either are or aren’t.

One of the best examples that I can give of my opinion is Nick Lee. Nothing about him was athletic. But he was so positionally sound, and had solid fundamentals and technique. He was coached to his strengths, and did it at an elite level.   Zero flash or wow factor, and yet was a 2-time National Champion. He got coached up on what he could be taught. What could Burroughs have taught him about a blast double from 3 steps out? Or Dake at holding center when the guy you’re wrestling is stronger and quicker than you?

I just don’t see certain coaches capable of coaching what they could do.

Imagine thinking that a seven-time world-level champ has nothing to teach anyone.

It's a pretty big disrespect to reduce JB down to blast doubles.  He found what worked for him and maximized it.  He will do the same for his kids.  He has such a great command of the sport when he commentates and he is running a club.  I doubt that the club is only full of kids learning the blast double.  He has mentioned reaching out to Chance to learn and that what DT was able to do made him interested in coaching.

Iowa will either be awesome because it picked up JB, or a long-term failure having been too short-sighted and missed out on DT and JB!

As mentioned earlier, I don't post often.  Again, this post is spot on though.  It does, however, reach to my uncertainties.

Name dropping is purposeful for illumination. Once while wrestling with Jayson Ness I had the audacity ( having never secured a proper takedown) of making a recommendation to a slight correction.  His response was immediate, "I know a few things, practice them always so I can do them to anyone".  Case closed.  Make no mistake, this wasn't about simplicity.  As witnessed by the world, he did have the GO-TO move for desperate situations.

Compare this with Zach Sanders, who is a literal rollodex of technique.  I have never met anyone, short of Joe Russell, who knew more technique than Zach (wrestled Zeke when I was younger, but I didn't consider myself as knowing him well.  Same for John Smith).

Anywho, tough to know if Jordan's abilities are transferable.  I wonder what Joran would say.  Such a unique and incredible athlete.

Judging from their trajectories, Sanders coaching, Ness with a personal life, I am betting, I'm not the only one who has noticed this trait.

Interesting to say the least.  Respect to all!

I think he definitely gets over looked, he has been able to put some good teams on the mat, and had plenty of guys make AA runs at ncaas. Although, I feel like since he isn't at a historic program it's just easy to pass him over. If you look at his overall dual record it's definitely enough to turn heads. Would absolutely love to see him at a B1G program. Wisco, indiana and see what he is able to do with some even better recruits. I've always thought he has worked the portal extremely well

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

Zeke Jones is under contract one more season at ASU. I hope ASU goes in a different direction at that time. Pritts is the guy they can’t afford to lose. But the hope for me is ASU makes a huge splash in the coaching change.

This is an absurd analysis. Burroughs was well rounded with one signature move. The guy’s best ability in wrestling was insane competitiveness (not his double). He would do great as a head coach.
