VT has it on their schedule but PSU doesn't. Perhaps they'll send Barr and Mirasola to wrestle off here

I thought Barr wasn't coming back until 2nd semester? or is it 2nd semester already?

Weren't they in Wyoming last night...

I still haven't seen that dual. Don't tell me who wins, I want to maintain suspense until I do see it (sometime in the next hour).

Would you like to know how much altitude impacted each match?

I know a scientist who graduated from the MIT of Blue Sky county who can tell me that stuff.

Well, watched the dual. The only PSU guys who lost were the Mirasola boys.

Why is Desmond at 141? Did Carl ask him to move up, or could he not hold the weight (125) anymore? He didn't look very impressive at 141, not scoring bonus against a low ranked 141 pounder.

The dual ended about the way I expected it would with an overwhelming PSU win.

PSU isn’t going to the Scuffle. SOME PSU kids might be, but not the whole team. Wish they were, I liked that tourney when it started up and PSU was going along with a few other top teams.
If Cornell shows up with their 1st Semester hold outs in tow and Okie St brings their 1st team, could be some great matches!!

I remember my Freshman year of college watching Kem dog and Hidlay wrestle for THIRD. It has fallen really hard in the last 5-6 years.

I think the Scuffle was literally the toughest folkstyle tournament on Earth (other than D1 NCAAs) for a few years. I wish they'd bring it back in full glory.

You are going way back to 70/80s on Midlands! At least the Scuffle sniffed greatness this century!

Perhaps you mean, "now" literally. There have been some good tournies since the 90's though.

2016 had,

Gilman, Gross, Hall, Richards, Kolodzik, Jack, Ashnault, Sorenson, Heffernan, Tshirt, Kemerer, Martinez, Sebastian, Walsh, Valencia, Meyer, Jackson, Renda, Dudley, Stoll, Medberry....

Northwestern U. canceled the Midlands Covid year but did Not cancel  its NCAA men's basketball game a few days later.  that same week maybe the next Tuesday; I was so pissed.

ok - but seems like the same risks but different degree of the overall risk? The total number of people and total amount of time at wrestling events is differenat than a single basketball game.  Perhaps sound public health analysis includes concerns about the direct contact of wrestlers on the mat and where only a few wrestlers with unidiagnosed covid wrestling 5 matches could spread it to each opponent and so on.

That is a pisser. You can tell which is the money sport, huh?

That reminds me of a local poker room I visited in 2020. When I got to the casino I found the room had been closed. When I asked why I was told "oh, we are trying to prevent the spread of Covid".  They had knocked down a wall between the poker room and the massive Bingo room expanding it to 300 people or so!! When I said "good thinking. Now instead of 30 people getting infected it'll be 300!" the casino lady got a snotty look on her face.

Remember back in grade school, Jr High, and HS how if one kid had the flu he'd give it to entire teams? I never heard of that happening with bball teams.

It's the money hypocrisy!  All the wrestlers were being checked. But 10000 people rubbing elbows for a basketball game are OK.
