This was a really fun dual to watch, GG's bro

Good dual indeed. Wish we would’ve won or at least been more competitive, just not our night tonight. Conway vs Taylor, I thought would’ve been bonus for Taylor. Conway wrestled tough. Mayfield, that hurt.

This may be the outcome more often then not against the top tier programs as this team matures.  But I'd rather see the Tigers continue to wrestle a schedule that is entertaining to fans, while also exposing this young team to all American type talent to raise the bar.  As wrestlers,we all knew that if you wanta be the best you have to wrestle the best in the room!

But also as fans, and wrestling quality programs, we can also see how well the coaches do their job to make progress by "coaching up" their wrestlers.

I finally got around to watching the "lopsided score" dual with Iowa.  Regardless of the outcome, the Tigers actually wrestled pretty tough in some very close matches.  I'm a real fan of the National Duals early. If anything else, it is a two day clinic to prepare for the rest of the season, as long as wrestlers don't get injured.  Cam Steed, case in point.  Cam seems to be Snake bit as far as injuries.  I think part of it may be his style of wrestling.  As a person that has dealt with multiple concussion injuries in my life, I do know that you certainly don't want to rush back to competition.

Good point.  Anyone have any further news on what's going on with Seth Mendoza?  I trust whatever the coaches decision is, but from a fan's perspective, sure would like to see him wrestle this year.  I think he makes the lineup better/stronger.

I have a feeling that he’s redshirting, barring injury. For whatever reason, Smith seems to be high on Conway and I doubt he’ll replace Edmond in his last season.

Not what most of us would like to see, but that’s Smith.

I'm also curious about what is going on with Collin Rath.  He is part of this blue chip recruiting class and I assume is red shirting and prepping to move in 165 next season.  Still can wrestle up to 5.

I think they tinkered with the idea of starting Mendoza at 41. but he got too big in which case you let the SR Josh Edmond go.

i think Mendoza at 49 and Rath (who had surgery) 57 next year.

Good question.  Might have strained his back doing deadlifts.

Or middle finger cramps from doing birds.

Manning has said that he planned on giving Zinkin, Eise, and Ziola some starts.  I wouldn't put too much stock in the Ferrari absence.  Nebraska is a really loaded team when they add Lamer to the mix at 149.  You can point at "holes" in the Nebraska lineup when compared to tOSU, OKST, PSU, ISU, etc., but the talented young wrestlers at 125 and 165 both got hard-fought victories against a good program in Mizzou.  Nebraska's "holes" are dudes who most programs would love to have start for them...
