Paniro Johnson - ranked #2?

I know Johnson is a past AA but he looked tiny at 149 yesterday, and yet he's ranked #2 in the nation?  He did not look good versus Block who looked 20 pounds heavier.

 

What is the deal with Paniro?

its pointed out in broad cast he has lost 2 of 3 wrestle offs to Jacob frost 

guess dresser and co had a gut feeling vs block but I think we see frost in lineup soon

Frost was sick. paniro was not thats the only reason paniro wrestled. paniro is also not an AA

How could Paniro be ranked #2 in the country if he's not even the best on his own team?  Is Frost ranked #1 then?

The O/U on reattacks in his match was 1 and Paniro took the under

Intermat did have Johnson at #2.  Flo had him at #4 but have since removed him and put Frost in at 4. It seems his ranking was largely based on him beating Frost in a wrestleoff.  In Flo’s rankings, Frost was #6 on 9/29 (he did finish 7th at 141 last year) and they swapped Johnson into the same spot on 10/29.

Even without a “win” over Frost, Johnson did finish R16 last year.  Only 3 AA’s returned - SVN who is #1, and McNeil and Stiles who have taken losses this year.   The only returning R12 guy is Wasilewski, and he may have had a decent argument to be ahead of Johnson.  The only other returning R16 guy is Jack Gioffre and he hasn’t wrestled a match yet this year.

Johnson is a quick explosive wrestler that can be dangerous in a match, must like Edwards from Missouri, both are "roll the dice wrestlers." Very deliberate as to when they attack/reattack, zero riding on top.  They wrestle in bursts and then shut it down.  They drive me crazy because I question what kind of a wrestler they might be if they used their physical gifts, improved their gas tank, and went on the offensive for 7 minutes.  I just can't see either of those guys changing their tactics at this point in their careers. 

The Frost twins are disciplined grinders, as is Block from Iowa.  In my mind, this is my "old school" definition of a wrestler.  These kids are tough as hell and just don't quit.  Very easy to cheer for, even if they are wearing enemy colors.  You know their work ethic is going to carry them well throughout their lives.  This is wrestling to me.

... and believe WS didn't even have him in the top 10.  Of course jimmybon knew all this and you are ruining his great story.
