If you were to make a wager on National Titles for Duke and Blaze what slip would you bet?

  1. 1. How many national titles will PJ Duke, Marcus Blaze, or both win in college? What is your bet?

    • Blaze over 2.5
      5
    • Blaze under 2.5
      2
    • Duke over 2.5
      3
    • Duke under 2.5
      2
    • Duke and Blaze parlay of each over 2.5 (must each win 3 or more to cash. ie: Duke 3 titles, Blaze 2 titles does not win)
      11
    • Duke and Blaze parlay of each under 2.5 (same criteria as above)
      3

Blaze has insane positioning and defense, but tonite he showed more offensive aggression than I expected. Look out 133 lb class.

Not saying he wins this year, but he is ready and talented enough.

PJ can also win this year .

Yeah, Crookham is a massive obstacle(though what 4X champ doesn't have one).

I do not see the same type of obstacle in Duke's path. No clear cut #1.

I am not sure anyone but Shapiro can stop PJ Duke this year. Shapiro is gonna have to prove to be gritty. I don't see anyone else in the way next year unless Caleb Henson Henson goes up. And then the unknown but I am keeping my eye on is Landon Robideau(I won't overreact but he looks damn good).

Marcus Blaze is going to beat some good guys this year. Ayala and Byrd are seniors. Then there's 2025 freshman AA's Zan Fugitt, Tyler Knox, and then Ryan Crookham(2024) to contend with for 3 seasons. And Ben Davino looks to be the other best freshman at 133. And then Jax Forrest might be at 133 next year, but I doubt it.

If Blaze moves up to 141 in the future, that weight class is going to totally clear out next year. Best returning wrestlers for 2027 are Echemendia, Vombaur, Romney, Bailey, plus his teammates but that doesn't matter. Bassett and/Jax could both be at 141 in 2027.

I'll take Duke over 2.5 and Blaze under 2.5.

Wow. Seems premature, but I’ll play. Dollar and a dream right..

133 is loaded. Blaze could win it, but I’m gonna predict that at this point. I could see him having a Zain like career. AAs as a freshman, takes an L or two in a loaded weight class, then goes on to dominate for 3yrs maybe never losing.

157. I’d like to see him wrestle A match first but ok. Pat Smith like career - minus the loses - he wins this year, redshirts, comes back and wins 3 straight.

So 7 total. Maybe 6. Given their abilities and PSUs recent run rate with kids like this, it’s hard to not see 2-3 each in their future.

@Ragu so far it's 15-3 in expecting 3 or more titles between these two individuals. So maybe some people put expectations of 3 to 4 titles on incoming freshmen after all?

I should’ve clarified. Peoples opinion whose matter. I’m certain the athletes don’t care what the fans expectations of them are, only their coaches. To put the honus of three or more titles on an athlete is ludacris

Wtf is putting the "honus of three or more titles on an athlete?" Like a coach is going to say "I expect 3 or more titles and anything less is a failure from (insert athlete here)?"

You're getting into semantics now by hinging your argument on the definition of "expectation."  Of course a coach isn't going to put a hard line of "expectations" on an athlete that are 100% results based. But are you going to tell me that Cael is starting Blaze and Duke this year and doesn't believe they can each win a national championship? If he believes they can win this year, it would make sense that he believes they can each win 4 titles. If you want to argue between "expecting" and "believing" an athlete can win four titles than have fun fighting your straw man.
