From the article: Cheney died Monday due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, his family said Tuesday in a statement.

A very interesting thing to me about Dick Cheney is how, through all he has done in politics and particularly in the White House, and he’s done a lot, much of which makes for good debate as to whether good or bad for the country, for many the final impression is where he stood on……Trump.  
 

Through COS for Ford to VP for Bush, he had one of, if not the, most impactful tenures in the White House for any non President in the history of this “great experiment” of ours.  Yet, for so many, not all but so many….conservatives loved him, until he spoke against Trump.  Liberals hated him, until he spoke against Trump. And that is the lasting impression for so many, regardless of what he did in the White House or Congress, that he spoke out against Trump.  (Same goes for Liz, one of the most conservative voters in Congress, but how dare she….)
 

I think it goes to show that “Trump Derangement Syndrome” goes much much deeper than those emotionally against Trump, but also those emotionally tied to him.

I always liked Dick Cheney and voted for his ticket as VP. Little did I know the positive impact he would have.

I'll say this. If you agreed with him or not, which I often didn't. Cheney was a man of great integrity.

I'll, forever, choose a man of great integrity over one who continually chooses lies and falsehoods

Regardless of party - future leaders need to display proven integrity to even be eligible.

It is interesting that Trump issued a proclamation for the flags to fly at half staff the same day Charlie Kirk was shot (Sept. 10), but has done nothing so far for Dick Cheney - per a search of proclamations on whitehouse.gov.
