Generally the kick start to the folk season for me aside from elite 8. Seems like matchups have come out really slow this year and while there are some good ones, there are certainly not the number of awesome matchups I am use to and we are only 2 weeks out. Wondering if its going to be a smaller card this year?

@Truzzcat or anyone else that follows HS more closely than I.. final predictions? What matches do you have highlighted? I'm interested to see the majority of the matchups. I'm pretty familiar with just about all of the names, but it'll be my first or second time seeing a lot of them wrestle.

120 lbs: #2 Rocklin Zinkin, CA vs #3 Domenic Munaretto, IL

165 lbs: #1 Melvin Miller, PA vs #3 Maximus Dhabolt, IA

126 lbs: #1 Antonio Mills, GA vs #2 Paul Kenny, NJ

157 lbs: #1 Wyatt Medlin, IL vs #2 Camryn Howard, NY

190 lbs: #1 Adam Waters, PA vs #2 Tanner Hodgins, NJ

106 lbs: #1 Ariah Mills, GA vs #2 Turner Ross, OK

175 lbs: #1 Joseph Jeter, OK vs #2 Nicholas Singer, PA

138 lbs: #2 Kellen Wolbert, WI vs #3 Tyler DeKraker, FL

132 lbs: #1 Jayden Raney, KY vs #2 Moses Mendoza, CA

120 lbs: #1 Landon Sidun vs #2 Rocklin Zinkin, CA or #3 Domenic Munaretto, IL

285 lbs: #2 Coby Merrill, CA vs #3 Michael Mocco, FL

150 lbs: #1 Bo Bassett, PA vs #1 (144 lbs) Jordyn Raney, KY

I think most of them are very good I was originally just upset we did not get Melvin vs Jayden but in all honesty it is a very good card.

Low lights:

Melvin vs Dhabolt (Melvin teched him twice a few weeks ago)
Medlin vs Howard (Not entirely sure that howard should be ranked #2 I think Zeno moore has been far more consistent and I think Medlin probably controls this one)

Highlights:
-Mills vs Kenny: Banger both guys are super slick should be very high output and I think both guys have a very bright college future.
- Zinkin vs Sidun: I am making the assumption Zinkin beats Munaretto but it sets up PSU vs OKST which is always electric and I think Zinkin is one of the most talented guys on the card maybe the most talented offensively besides Melvin.
-Raney vs Mendoza: This match is really intriguing because I think Mendoza is pretty underrated and just won Fargo and then decimated the field at elite 8. Another factor is raney coming up 12lbs in 3-4 weeks from where he competed at worlds. On top of that both guys let it fly should be a ton of points maybe the most on the card.
-Merill vs Mocco: just two big boys scrapping a lot of people are predicting Mocco to switch the script we shall see Merill is just a huge guy and I don't think mocco can be under those hips very long before he gets tired.
-Raney vs Bassett: Do not really need to say much.

Predictions:

120 lbs: #2 Rocklin Zinkin, CA vs #3 Domenic Munaretto, IL: 8-2

165 lbs: #1 Melvin Miller, PA vs #3 Maximus Dhabolt, IA: TF

126 lbs: #1 Antonio Mills, GA vs #2 Paul Kenny, NJ: 5-2

157 lbs: #1 Wyatt Medlin, IL vs #2 Camryn Howard, NY: 8-1

190 lbs: #1 Adam Waters, PA vs #2 Tanner Hodgins, NJ: Fall

106 lbs: #1 Ariah Mills, GA vs #2 Turner Ross, OK: 4-2

175 lbs: #1 Joseph Jeter, OK vs #2 Nicholas Singer, PA: 7-5

138 lbs: #2 Kellen Wolbert, WI vs #3 Tyler DeKraker, FL: 9-6

132 lbs: #1 Jayden Raney, KY vs #2 Moses Mendoza, CA: 16-12

120 lbs: #1 Landon Sidun vs #2 Rocklin Zinkin, CA or #3 Domenic Munaretto, IL: 7-2

285 lbs: #2 Coby Merrill, CA vs #3 Michael Mocco, FL: 5-1

150 lbs: #1 Bo Bassett, PA vs #1 (144 lbs) Jordyn Raney, KY: 18-14

I don't know if this is common or not nationwide, but Caley Graber who just won her 125 WNO event, placed 5th in the Boy's high school state tournament two years ago in Minnesota.

I know morgan turner took third at Illinois state when she weighed like 90lbs wrestling 106 I feel like I recall Audry placing in Arizona as well. Fun fact I  got leftie headlocked and pinned by the same girl on two separate occasions in fifth grade.

Whitney Conder (now Whitney Cox since she is married to J'den Cox) was a 2x Washington State placer at the highest division (4A) at 103 pounds. I believe she was the first girl to place at boys state in WA. She went on to make 5 world teams. Camie Yeik was another girl that placed 2x at WA boys state a couple years later.

He's gonna get revenge on Sidun from Doc Buchanan finals earlier this year. Should have won it the first time around. Will definitely take it this time.

Miller dominates despite a very uninspiring performance. He looked sluggish and like he didn't really want to be there IMO. I liked Dhabolt's compete considering the only thing I knew about him going in was that he'd been teched each time they met before.

This one should be great

The whole Mills family and having 19 kids and the wrestling background with the brothers is fascinating to me. Looking forward to this match with Antonio and seeing Ariah later on.

Merrill wrestling his match. Mocco was really good in their last match getting to legs but got worn down. He really has had no offense in this one. Merrill wins 4-1 (3-0 without the double stall calls during the ride out)
