Given that Dake's matches were much closer with Zahid than anyone else, I'd think old man Dake is closer to the top than we realized.

Does he have any dual citizenship he can fall back on?

Got to feel for the guy despite all his success - he's been held off World/Olympic teams now by Zahid, Cox and JB. Murderers row!

Guy that beat Brooks is still out there and even younger than Dake.

I don't think the versions of Dake we saw at the Open, World Team Trials, or Final X beats the version of Ghasempour we saw.

I know he didn't look spectacular on his own standards, but I think Ghasempour is just simply too strong.

I think that's going to be true for almost every wrestler in the not too distant future.

If he did what you're hinting at, he wouldn't be able to compete at UWW events until late 2027. That's a lot of time away from competition. I think he's still a legit threat to make another World/Oly team in the US.

I don't think he has a shot at 86.  Valencia is obviously too big for him.  A year from now while sitting out until the finals that won't change.
