With the combination of Cleveland State and Kent State make them the front runner to win the Mid American conference?

Also will we see them look down the local talent from Walsh, ST.ED, Elyria to name a few solid programs?

Last year Cleveland State scored 39.5 points at MACs and Kent St. scored 29.5. Lock Haven won the title with 121.5 points. So, even if you combined Cleveland State and Kent State's teams (even including weights where both teams had point scorers), they would still be a long ways off. So no, they're not the front runner to win MACs.

Perhaps the middling talent. The best kids probably aren't sticking around...

Honestly NE Ohio and Western PA might be the best region in US for wrestling period correct? I know that is up for debate. With that said Kent State, especially with the removal of Cleveland St, and a locked in new coach should turn it around? Or are the power 4 conferences just to alluring? Money of course being the biggest factor along with winning, duh. But I commend what Josh Moore is trying to do!

The best kids in that area are not going to Kent State, I hate to break that to you.

Edinboro, Clarion and Lock Haven vie for the same kids that Kent State does.  None of them are still successful due to money and the lack of recognition of a degree.

Kent read, Kent write, Kent State isn't really that much of a joke.

That was absolutely brutal. Dang. I work for a fortune 100 company. Our CFO went to Kent State. Not a wrestler but he is familiar with that line. So all the MAC schools are worthless degrees?  I have been to most schools in the MAC and actually like the campus and town of Kent the best.

Can people succeed going to a lower rated school? Absolutely.   Does going to a "better" school set them on a much easier path to success? Also absolutely.

I totally agree with you. Just the can't read, can't write thing. I know it is not a top academic school but one of the better ones in the MAC overall. Me and my daughter and sons have toured about 50 schools the last 7 years. Kent State campus and town was surprisingly nice from what we were expecting going in. Anyway I agree Josh Moore has his hands tied trying to compete with the power 4 conferences. Why would Kent State opt in to the new legislation and have roster limits? Seems like they and other MAC, SoCon schools would want numbers.
