As long as the parents actions (or inaction) is taken into account, and not just the kids.......yes all for it for parents who don't parent when their kid causes trouble. 2

red viking Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) Horrible idea, in general. It may sound great to somebody simple minded and vindictive but ya gotta think it through. Parents don't always have control over what kids do. Kids commit crimes for a variety of reasons. To say it's always due to bad parenting is pure ignorance plain and simple. A lot of these parents are doing the best they can and actually doing a great job. Go ahead and do it if parents obviously did something negligent but to just be able to apply it to everything and anything is stupid and will likely make situations worse in many cases. That said, the law does hold the responsible individual responsible. It also talks to the actions of the parents in trying to prevent the repeated actions of the child. It also talks about the parents being “warned” before any action is taken against them. So these matters will be investigated, and parents….who are responsible for parenting….will be held responsible for not parenting. Along with the minor being held responsible for their actions.
