What's your favorite political show or movie? This thread can totally devolve into an argument as long as it's an argument about which show or movie is better...

Honestly I laughed my a** off at Veep. I highly recommend it just as a fun show to watch because it's raunchy and hysterical.

I liked House of cards early on in the series then it got kinda bad towards the end.

I was probably a tad too young to enjoy The west wing but I've heard that was good.

As for a movie- I always thought Frost/Nixon was good.

almost forgot- release the Epstein files... (just trying to stay on brand while I simultaneously distract)

Is that your top choice?

I dunno.  What’s that news one that was pretty good?    The newsroom.   He’s a journalist.  We don’t have them any more.

Not Necessarily The News was funny as a kid, but the subject material was definitely above my head at the time. I remember laughing at a lot of the cutaway gags or voice overs that didn’t match the actual clips. Just some good ol’ basic comedy. Probably the one reason I ever knew who the Speaker of the House was before I took a class on Speakers of the House in college.

Wife and I watched all of the US version of House of Cards and generally liked it. Last season was meh. Started the original British series, but got sidetracked after maybe 2 episodes.

Insert catchy tagline here.

Would the wire on hbo be considered political ?

Yeah one of the seasons got into the local politics aspect right? I watched the first two seasons which were awesome. I know the wire has been critically acclaimed for as long as it's been around .

Never saw Not necessarily the news but house of cards was decent initially. Also never was able to catch the British version.

Homeland was more Of a spy thriller but that was pretty good early on from what I recall.

Was going to respond with Not Necessarily the News, and in particular the segment “Sniglets: words that aren’t in the dictionary, but should be”

West Wing was a good one.  Watched that a lot.

Charlie Wilson’s War is a great movie.

For a night in with your lady, if you can cook and know a good bottle of wine, “The American President” isn’t a bad choice.
