Gomez got his head banged in the ranking tourney and visually went down dazed; finished him just as he was coming back

I saw that.  He'll recover better not dehydrating his brain, though.  I really like seeing Gomez at 70 KG.  He's an animal.

Plott beats Filip Rogut of Poland. He was up 8-2 when Rogut injury defaulted. He was bleeding (from his nose I think) every 30 seconds it felt like. Kind of funny because if you've watched Plott much he's usually the one needing a lot of blood time

Plott techs Luza Tsertsvadze of Georgia 15-5. After the first exchange where Plott gave up a fairly easy takedown I thought it might get ugly. Tsertsvadze looked like a giant compared to Plott, but he was attacking relentlessly and it paid off. Ivan Chornohuz of Ukraine next.

Hamiti bounces back with a first period tech against Codei Khawaja of Serbia.

Vito is up next on Mat 2. Devan Turner up now. Joey Blaze is after Vito. Brayton Lee on deck on Mat 1. Ruiz a few matches back on Mat 3.

Thanks for the YT link and mat assignments @okokzach!

Turner won 3-2 against someone from Ukraine

Vito against Dzhelep of Ukraine.  Vito opened it up with a nice takedown about a minute in.  Then gave up 4 after being in deep on a shot and kinda got pancaked.  In the second he got another takedown and they gave him 4 for feet to back which I thought the exposure was questionable, Ukraine challenged but they kept it, so 7-4.  Then Ukraine got a takedown, 7-6.  Another TD for Vito, 9-6 and that was the final.  This match started at about 1:34 in the mat 2 video I think

Blaze was losing 6-6 to Georgia with 30 seconds to go, got a takedown, leg lace then Georgia guy goes for a desperation move and then kinda gives up, Blaze gets the fall

I just watched Vito's match against Dzhelep of Ukraine.

Definitely  the 4 for Vito (vs 2)was really questionable imo as well.

Still not up to his usual self (Ongoing nerve/injury recovery, still) especially against this Ukranian (didn't see him listed in the UWW top twenty ratings)

Will Vito ever get back to the way he was  (world champion form?)

Would like to see him back to his fast form again!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yeah obviously Vito would have tried more at the end, but without the extra 2 and the lost challenge he would have been losing 6-6 on criteria.

I did like that he seemed to take a good amount of shots at least.

For those wondering:

ZW column is the mat classification points and ZT is the points scored during the match.  3/1 means the wrestler shown first won via decision and the wrestler shown second scored at least one point.  1/3 would mean 2nd wrestler won.

Example: Turner VS Vito shows ZW of 0/3 meaning Vito won a Decision via shutout.  The ZT of 0/2 is the match score.

See the screenshot below.  I selected Fights (matches) and the weight class of 61 KG.

Yes, the effort was there.

In other news: Ruiz is in the finals at 79 KG against the Ukrainian that beat Hamiti via Techfallery 11-0.

Curious how they are doing the actual brackets.  At 79 KG the Ukrainian has beaten three of the bronze medal match wrestlers.  The 4th was defeated by Ruiz.

Vito wrestled another Ukrainian on Mat 2 (edit: was this the final? Not sure). Kerymov.  Vito with his head wrapped.

1-0 Vito after the first (shot clock I think)?

Vito close to a TD out of bounds but only gets 1 for the pushout, 2-0.

Ukraine gets 2 on the Mitch McKee style chin whip, but Vito finishes on top for 1, 3-2 Vito with under 30 to go.

Ukraine does the same thing again, 4-3 Ukraine, then hangs onto the leg for awhile.  Vito comes out for another 1 but down 4-4 on criteria.  Vito with a YOLO challenge and shallenge loast, 5-4 final
