The Phillips belted five home runs off of Lance McCullers.  It is a World Series record.  It took Philly talent, however the pitcher was tipping his pitches.

How has tipping moves provided a lopsided victory at the highest levels of wrestling?

It's like a tell in poker.  The pitcher develops a habit before certain pitches letting the batter know what's coming.  Maybe he throws over the top on curves and sliders, but goes 3/4 sidearm on fastballs.  Or. maybe he pats his leg before a fastball.  It doesn't have to the pitcher.  SS and 2nd usually know what's being thrown.  We were up against a ss that would slide move toward second on fastballs, but would move right and into the hole on curves. We just watched which way the shortstop went and we knew what pitch was coming.

Which ball is the pitcher going to throw next? Usually, this is a mystery. But sometimes, pitchers can unintentionally give clues to opposing batters about their impending pitch. This is called “tipping pitches.”

If a pitcher is tipping their throws, they are doing the hitter an excellent service. So, tipping is something hitters should take advantage of, and something pitchers need to combat.
