I think 90% of our military budget is waste. Probably only 25% or whatever is fraud. 

Most of us think pork is waste but it's not same as fraud either.

Once again, I'm embarrassed FOR you. Appropriating money that YOU think is pork, but that gets passed by Congress, the Senate and signed by the President...that is not Fraud.

If "Pork" is Fraud, then...NEARLY every single Republican(and...likely Democrat for that matter) is guilty and there is NO bigger source of Fraud than our Defense Budged. 

 

There have been years where 434 of the 435 districts have gotten money in the way of Jobs or contracts for existing companies...from the DOD. 

Why do we think that is? SO THEY KEEP SPENDING. 

We're going to spend 1T this year(or nearly} on defense spending and Trump wants to increase that. This despite the fact that due to companies like PLTR, defense spending SHOULD be going down(at least leveling out as it takes over quite a few jobs that no longer have to be done by people and makes everything so much more efficient).

Yah. I think we could slash our defense budget by 90% and be fine, if we mind our own business like Switzerland, etc.

If we were Switzerland...sure. But we're not, we're the largest economy in the world. 

Strength through peace is the strongest deterrent. 

There's also a cascading affect that I suspect many people would find appalling if you cut the Military Budget by 90%. You'd be fine in 2025, 2026, 2027... but slowly, China would pass you up. 

You'd also have to close bases ALL over the World. the Russians now want to go past the Ukraine, yeah, they can do that. China's debt is now about 300% of their GDP... they'd probably benefit from taking Taiwan and Taiwan Semiconductor, one of the 10 wealthiest companies and one of the 3-4 more important to the future of the Global Economy(and some people who don't understand will read that as "globalist," I'm just saying AI and the manufacturing of the GPUs that enable AI will impact every economy in the world). 

 

How about when water starts running out in regions of the world? Who do you think gets that? A peaceful distribution?

What if France or actually figures out Fusion? That would change the world and whoever had control of that... it would be a monumental advantage over the rest of the world...

 

I think we should definitely cut the defense spending... but by...~10%, maybe 12%. NOT by 90%. 

I believe we should pay down our debt and the EASIEST way to do that is to pay MORE to Government employees so you can eliminate Government contractors when it comes to defense spending and the like.

 

This also isn't an area that I've spent much time studying, so it may be easier in theory than in application. Maybe we've now ceded too much power to the Military Industrial Complex. 

 

Lower Military Spending, other cuts are needed, higher taxes on the top earners. MASSIVE debt for the United States is not unprecedented... not REALLY doing anything about it, that is.

If Evans' allegations are correct, the NGO is almost certainly committing fraud. The initial contract may have been pork, but that's an entirely separate discussion.

Pork is waste, in most peoples opinion, but it clearly isn't fraud. If you don't understand the difference, then you're mentally challenged to point where you're beyond help
