Pitt with a run of 2027 Commits in the last few days:

Caige Horak from Ohio, Hunter Snyder from PA, and Mason Horwat from PA.

Some other bigger-name recruits they have had on visits are Sidun, Rothermal, Music, and B. Brown. All four of these guys are ones I expect Pitt to be after heavily, and I would put them as slight favorites for Music and Brown (although Brown is in the same weight range as Horak/Snyder and Pitt already has Elijah Brown in 26

Great to see Pitt in the fray. Would be cool to see them land Sidun.

I am not getting my hopes up yet, but if Pitt is going to get a top 5 PFP guy anytime soon, he would be the one.

Wrestling Fan- I get it but would be awesome to see. Crazier things have happened and you never know what kids are looking for.

Mind you, this is on me, but I’ve never understood proximity being a pull for a kid but it is a thing. Most kids travel all over to wrestle and I would think that travel is not a big deal but I think it’s is a thing (I’m just weird and don’t get it). That being said kids staying close to home or having a school with a great program in their major are a thing. Never know how that hits when it comes to a kid. Also, I’d think a kid like Sidun could go there and be the guy right away for 4 years, that has to have some appeal as well.

I agree with what you say about proximity, but I also understand how important the connection to family/friends/community is for so many kids. Also, some people are just really fond of specific areas. I think your point about Sidun makes a lot of sense, if he sees himself as a four-year 125 (which I have heard he does) Iowa and PSU both have guys at that weight who if they don't move up would make it hard for Sidun to be locked in at 125, and if he doesn't want to RS that would make it even harder at those big schools

Pittsburgh is a great town, I know I liked it and western PA and PA in general is amazing in terms of wrestling. Hard to say no to that. Personally, I don’t love Pittsburgh campus because it’s so spread out but Pittsburgh is awesome as a city IMO. Imagine would be cool to have your support system there all the time as well.

tough decisions for these kids which is why I am a fan of moving that date back which Willie alluded to.

I understand what you are saying about Pitt's campus, but I feel as if it is a lot less spread out than some other schools I have visited (PSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, WVU, to name a few), and acreage-wise, it is a small campus

Spent a lot of time on Pitts campus in undergrad, and grew up near PSU and while the towns/cities they are in are very different I actually think the bulk of the campus is quite similar. PSU's is actually quite a bit more spread out a lot of my friends could not walk from class to class if that had any form of time crunch. I loved Pitt's campus though Oakland is a great place to be.

I went to Duquesne it was like a city in a city, that was much more my pace. But still a big fan of Pitt and the burgh. Loved NCAAs there, it was my sons first one.

I went to Duquense as well for my first 2 years of undergrad!

Bachman, Turner Ross, Luke Hayden and Colin Rutlin were all at the Mizzou/KU football game this past Saturday.

Here is how I started reading your post.

UNI had a big recruiting weekend with Hayden, Landers, Youngblutt, Vandermark, Luke Hayden, and Rugg.

got this from IAWrestle on Rokfin, which again well worth the price and follow, they do a great job.

was also noted that Dhabolt and Anderson will be visiting in October.

I noticed Bucknell had a very talented group of PA guys come through this weekend.

VT had a few guys but their big weekend was two weeks ago when the wrestling team was honored at halftime for winning the ACC. Paul Kenny headlined a top notch group including Singer, Zalota, and a few more I believe. I expect one more big weekend at least. Hopefully Amato and Melvin Miller make it for an OV.

Wow. Didn't see this one coming, good get for Michigan.

Great great wrestler and being an AWA kid I expect him to get much better, however he did not have a super clear path to start ever at okst given the class he is coming in with. Feels like he was always going to be behind Jax,Raney,Robideau,Vega. Thought he may do a year or two though.

Shortly after committing to OSU he made a comment about probably being a 133 or having to get bigger to be a 141, and then he didn't make weight at that weight at a big tournament and dropped in the rankings.  What?  It's pretty obvious to me he will be 141 or 149.  I think MatScouts has him at 157, but I don't think he will get that big.

Didn’t make weight in Vegas 134 second day, that had to be a brutal cut for him. Looked plenty big and good at 138 this summer. Sr year and RS year who knows if he can get to 57 or not. Always feel like that’s tough to say.

with roster caps I feel like the idea is to have 3/weight more or less but I think recruiting that 41-57 range is really hard to do and maybe look at some of those guys floating between weight classes. Idk. Congrats to KW, super tough competitor for sure.

On that topic, Michigan has in that 133-157 range: Mendoza, Peterson, Wolbert, Sement, Hilton, and Cosby across the classes of 25/26

Similar to Okie State situation. I get kids need to go compete and earn their way in and that not every kid will make it (injuries, life etc) but man some of these room battles are crazy and are 3 legit AA threats deep.

Increased Scholarship limits plus NIL have definitely changed things. When teams had 9.9 and no roster cap along with no NIL, kids getting one hundred percent scholarship was like almost never a thing. Now it’s seems in some way to be the standard for the highly touted kids.

Also, for kids no harm no foul, they can always portal quicker if they cannot make the lineup etc much easier than the past. Different times for sure. Who knows where it goes or if and when rules change again.

I think Cooper may get really big kid has been growing like a weed for the last 2 years or so. Same with peterson would not be shocked if he ends up at 165.
